Hi there! I'm a 40 something-year-old Brooklyn resident, dog owner, and lifelong animal lover looking to care for your pets while you're away. My own rescue dogs have taught me a lot about patience, routine, and reading what an animal needs even when they can't tell you directly — from an anxious wait by the door to a happy tail-wag greeting. I know that handing your pet over to someone else, especially while you're traveling, can bring up a lot of worry: Will they get enough exercise? Will someone notice if something's off? Will I get updates? As a frequent traveler myself, I've been on both sides of that anxiety, and I take it seriously. I'm primarily interested in short-term dog care, with a 2-night minimum preferred — long weekends, extended trips, or overnight stays in your home or mine. I'm comfortable with multiple dogs if they're used to each other, and happy to administer medication as needed. I work with dogs at every life stage. I have hands-on experience with puppies, including the consistency and patience that early training and routine-building require, as well as with senior dogs and end-of-life care, where comfort, gentleness, and close attention to changing needs matter most. Whatever stage your dog is in, I'll approach their care with the same warmth and attentiveness. You can expect me to be reliable, communicative, and genuinely attentive — I'll follow your routines, send photo/text updates, and treat your pet with the same care I'd want for my own. If you're looking for someone calm, experienced, and trustworthy to look after your furry family member, I'd love to help.
“Isis is a reliable, consistent pet sitter. We've loved working with her and hope she is always available for us!!”
Hi There! I’m Fitri! I’m a warm, reliable, and detail-oriented caregiver with 3+ years of experience caring for toddlers and children through teaching, babysitting, and children’s programs. I’m a mom myself, so I understand how important it is to find someone you can truly trust with your child and your home. I’m patient, attentive, dependable, and enjoy creating a safe, positive environment where children can play, learn, and feel comfortable. I’m experienced with age-appropriate activities, reading, creative play, learning, mealtimes, routines, and helping children develop independence. I especially enjoy caring for toddlers and young children and keeping them engaged throughout the day. I’m also an excellent household helper. I’m highly organized and have a strong eye for detail. I genuinely enjoy cleaning and turning messy spaces into clean, tidy, and organized ones! I can help with children’s laundry, dishes, toy and playroom organization, light cleaning, tidying, groceries, errands, and other household tasks that make busy parents’ lives easier. I hold an MPA from Columbia University’s SIPA and am currently on sabbatical from my government position in Indonesia while living in New York. I speak Indonesian and English fluently and have basic Spanish. Whether you need a trusted date-night sitter, regular childcare, toddler care, or an extra pair of hands around the house, I’d be happy to support your family. I treat every home with care and every child with patience, respect, and genuine attention. Best, Fitri [removed]284 [removed] _____ P.S. I’m open to part-time opportunities during my career transition. You can find my background here:[removed]
Hi parents! I have experience teaching, tutoring, and nannying ages 1-14. I have a degree in Psychology focused on developmental and educational coursework from Northeastern University. I volunteered to teach in high school classrooms and tutor ages 9-14 throughout college and then taught in an after school program for ages 11-12. I worked as an assistant teacher at Reade Street Prep in Tribeca for ages 2-5 in English and Spanish classrooms. Most recently, I have worked for a family nannying for an 8 and 11 year old after school. I am a writer and artist and can bring fun, creative projects to your child's life. I am happy to help with homework for all ages and subjects including Spanish. I have babysat for all ages and grew up taking care of nieces and nephews. I am warm, energetic, and absolutely love working with children. I am a certified yoga teacher and outdoor enthusiast. I am Scuba rescue certified, giving me strong knowledge of emergency response and staying calm under pressure. It's important to me to understand a family's values and routine to ensure consistency in care for your little ones. I am CPR/AED certified and have a valid New York State background check.
I have a lifetime of experience working with children. I’ve been babysitting regularly since I was old enough, have worked as a full-time nanny, and have extensive understanding of childcare and learning through my mother, who runs a preschool in Connecticut. I’ve worked at her school directly and have also held several long-term babysitting and nannying positions, with kids ranging from infants through 12-year-olds. I’m also a freelance designer, so my schedule is flexible! I’m high-energy, ebullient, and genuinely love to play—why shouldn’t it be fun for both of us? I’m especially interested in activities that spark kids’ curiosity while helping them build skills and a deeper understanding of the world. I’m very hands-on and love to craft, make things, and get immersed alongside kids. I went to film school and enjoy doing creative projects such as making short movies together, which can be a great way to combine storytelling, collaboration, and play. I’m also comfortable preparing meals and snacks, and enjoy putting together food that works for kids and their routines. I had wonderful babysitters growing up, and really can’t overstate how much I value the time I spent with them! I also spent part of my childhood in the city, and know how rich and engaging it can be for a developing person with the right kind of guidance. I was raised around Reggio Emilia principles (my mom is Bank Street–educated, and I went to a Reggio school myself), and those ideas have deeply shaped how I think about children, learning, and play. I aim to be someone kids feel excited to spend time with and parents feel completely confident trusting—curious, attentive, and genuinely invested in making each day engaging, supportive, and fun. I’m new to this site, but have some fantastic references should you like to speak to someone! Don’t hesitate to reach out, thanks so much :-)
Hi! My name is Sophie and I'm a 23 year old Poetry MFA student at Columbia. I adore working with children, and am passionate about the patience, care, and creativity that it takes to give children the love they need! As well as being an experienced babysitter since I was thirteen, I have been a preschool teacher since I was a junior in High school, working at Shirat Hayam preschool of the North Shore from 2[removed] and the Preschool of the Arts Cambridge as a full-time preschool assistant during the summer of 2021 and 2023. There, I worked in the infant classroom as well as substituting for the 4-5 year old class. After graduating from Bennington College in 2023, I also worked as an English teacher in Kazakhstan for seven months, teaching classrooms of teenagers. It's very important to me that I create a safe, open, and fun environment where kids can feel their best to explore and feel grounded. I am skilled at creating projects and games for children, changing diapers, and well-versed in caring for infants. I am CPR certified. Feel free to contact me about references!
