She began volunteering at a special needs arts program at the age of 14 and has remained dedicated to the field ever since. Lauren graduated from Chapman University with degrees in Psychology and Integrated Educational Studies and from Teachers College, Columbia University with a Masters in Developmental Disabilities. She holds certifications in ABA, DIR Floortime, and is currently certified in CPR/first aid. Since 2017, Lauren has worked in childcare in various roles, including counselor, ABA therapist, camp division leader, and inclusion coordinator. Throughout all of this, she has babysat for children ages 2 and up since she was 14. She recently worked at a Jewish community center in Washington Heights for two years as an Inclusion Coordinator, overseeing disability inclusion in their afterschool program, summer camp, and directing a weekly social skills and play program for autistic and neurodivergent children.
