As an animal caregiver it has been my passion since the passing of one of my pets. Shelter volunteering was a way to give back to the community and gain valued experiences with animals. Working as a volunteer at a shelter clinic inspired my enthusiasm for learning different aspects of pre and post op care. My duties were to record vital signs, administer subcutaneous fluids, and medications, in addition to monitoring animals until conscious. Presently, I foster kittens and cats for a local shelter, preparing them for adoption. Many are medically / socially challenged.
