Hello! My name is Rumana, and I'm a recent graduate from UW Seattle. I’m currently studying for the MCAT and babysitting on the side, so my schedule is pretty flexible between the two! I am located in Seattle and can conveniently get to anywhere close by, such as Capitol Hill, but also have a car and can travel farther (as far as Bellevue, Redmond, Renton, etc.) if needed. I love kids and hope to become a pediatrician one day! To me, working with children is incredibly fun and exciting—I love to engage their curiosity and sense of play as a babysitter and help them learn how to be respectful and kind as peers at the same time. I have experience working with kids of all ages, particularly between infants to around 11 years old. When babysitting, I typically help kids read books, play lots of games, as well as do arts and crafts if available in order to stimulate their imagination and creativity. I babysat all throughout undergrad, amounting to 4 years of experience doing paid babysitting, and spent an initial 2 years working for a family with three talkative and active kids aged 1, 3, and 5. Afterwards, I began babysitting for many different families independently for an additional 2 years, and am super adaptable to a variety of kids! In terms of availability, I am typically available in the evenings on weekdays and all day on weekends, but again, I can be flexible if needed! Parenting is hard; the most fulfilling aspect of babysitting to me is helping your family maintain balance within your lives amidst busy schedules, and I sincerely hope to use my experience working with kids in my future career!
