About this babysitting job
One-time evening sitter needed in Hyattsville for Thursday, September 17, 6:30pm to midnight. I have tickets to a show at The Anthem and my usual backup is out of town. I'm also looking for ongoing occasional help, so if this goes well I'd love to have you back. Nothing fixed: a few evenings a month when I'm solo, plus the occasional after-school pickup on short notice. Happy to treat this night as the meet-and-greet. That night: Henry will have had dinner before you arrive. You'd have downtime and play, then the bedtime routine, which is written out and simple. He's usually in bed by 8:00, so most of the evening is quiet once he's down. Henry is 7 and autistic. He's extremely chatty and friendly, loves space and science and rainbows, and is genuinely good company. He does better with a calm, low-pressure adult than with someone who pushes. Important: Henry has an anaphylactic egg allergy. No eggs in any form, label-reading on everything, and you need to be comfortable with an EpiPen. I'll walk you through it and show you where it is when you arrive. He also has chronic constipation and can have occasional #2 accidents. It's routine here, supplies are on hand, and it needs a matter-of-fact adult, not a big reaction. We have two pets in the house. What I'm looking for: experience with autistic or neurodivergent kids, real comfort with food allergies, and someone who stays steady when a kid gets dysregulated. CPR certification and a clean background check preferred. I'll be about 30 minutes away and reachable by text all night. Midnight is padded for traffic; I expect to be back closer to 11:30. Tell me about your experience with kids like mine and with food allergies.Babysitting job details
