Live-In Mentor & Family Assistant for Creative 12-Year-Old — Housing + Pay I'm a single mother with a demanding professional career, looking for a warm, responsible, energetic person to join our household in a unique part-time, live-in role. This could be an especially good fit for a graduate student or young professional seeking comfortable housing, additional income, and a meaningful relationship with a wonderful 12-year-old. The role is approximately 15–25 hours/week and combines housing + hourly pay. I'm looking for someone who sees this as more than babysitting—a trusted older friend/mentor who can provide support to my daughter while making life easier for a busy mom. THE SCHEDULE & ROLE • Typical weekday: <1 hour of morning help + ~2 hours late afternoon/early evening • Additional hours occasionally for activities, appointments, evenings, meals, or household tasks • Transportation is the primary responsibility: helping her get ready/get to school and picking her up for activities, rehearsals, appointments, or home • Help with organization, transitions, schedules, belongings, and occasional simple meals/snacks • Some flexibility is important REQUIREMENTS • Valid driver's license, safe/reliable car, and excellent driving record — required • Non-smoker • Warm, patient, dependable, creative, and genuinely enjoys young people • Experience with ADHD/neurodiversity is a plus • Graduate student or young professional ideal ABOUT MY DAUGHTER She's 12, with a huge heart, vivid imagination, and lots of energy. She's creative, funny, curious, and bright, with interests in reading, theater, drawing, and music. She has ADHD, and I'm looking for someone who can be a positive role model—patient, encouraging, flexible, and good-humored. LIVING ARRANGEMENT You would have a private bedroom on a separate floor from me and my daughter, plus a full bathroom with shower on that floor (primarily for your use, though occasionally shared with family/guests). A second room serves as a guest room/exercise/play/creative space and is available for your use while remaining shared household space. Common areas, including the kitchen, are shared. I primarily work from home, but have a demanding schedule and am often working when my daughter needs transportation/support. I value privacy and independence and want this to feel like a comfortable home—not a place where you're constantly "on duty." We have a golden retriever and a sweet cat, so you should love animals.
