Seeking an experienced full time caretaker starting Monday, Oct 12 in Upper East Side - $28/hr

About this nanny job

We’re looking for a warm, reliable, energetic, and organized nanny/family assistant for our two daughters, ages 6 and 9. Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who genuinely enjoys children and will be present and engaged with our girls, playing with them, talking with them, reading, helping with homework, and stepping into their world. We’d love someone with a positive, upbeat personality who is patient, affectionate, dependable, proactive, and has good judgment. We’re also looking for someone who enjoys cooking and is comfortable preparing healthy family dinners and following recipes. Being naturally neat and organized is important, as the role includes helping us keep the children’s spaces and our home running smoothly. We would especially value someone who: • Is warm, patient, playful, and genuinely enjoys spending time with children • Is extremely reliable and punctual • Is organized and proactive and notices what needs to be done without always being asked • Is comfortable helping with homework and encouraging reading • Enjoys cooking nutritious meals and can easily follow recipes • Is comfortable managing two children with different activities and schedules • Communicates well with parents and uses good judgment • Is comfortable walking around the Upper East Side and taking the girls to activities • Is present and engaged with the children and keeps personal phone use to a minimum while caring for them Before School Pickup Responsibilities may include: • Preparing dinner or doing meal prep • Children’s laundry: washing, folding, and putting away • Tidying and organizing the girls’ toys, books, clothing, and rooms • Making beds • Unloading the dishwasher • Returning or checking out library books as needed • Taking out trash and recycling • Grocery shopping and light errands as needed Once the Girls Are Home The priority is being fully present and engaged with them: • Help Sienna with reading and homework • Make sure Sage completes her homework • Prepare and serve dinner • Help Sienna with her bath and make sure Sage takes her bath • Keep the girls on schedule for their activities and evening routines • Tidy up with the girls after activities and meals
