Looking for someone 1x a week to help in the household I work in as well as providing back up care for days when i'm outs The day a week can be Monday or Wednesday 930-115pm. Lakewood, CA I am a personal aide for two teenage boys with autism, and I am looking for a reliable backup aide to step in when I am unavailable. The family is wonderful and has three small dogs, so being comfortable around dogs is a must! (You likely wont have to do anything with the dogs) This is NOT an overnight position. The boys are generally very self-sufficient but need support with transportation, school, and after-school activities. We are specifically looking for coverage on: (Although we would like this to be on ongoing relationship) November 2–6 December 7–10 Current schedule needed: * Monday: 9:30 AM–2:55 PM * Tuesday:9:30 AM–4:00 PM * Wednesday:9:30 AM–3:15 PM * Thursday:9:30 AM–4:00 PM What the job involves: * Accompanying the older son to LBCC and sitting with him during class * Providing gentle redirection and support with staying focused, answering questions appropriately, and remaining respectful in the classroom * Picking up the younger son from school * Bringing both boys to their scheduled after-school activities * Helping make sure they get where they need to be safely and on time Requirements: * Experience working with children/teens, preferably with autism or special needs * Must be comfortable around dogs * Must have your own reliable vehicle and current auto insurance * Must be able to pass a background check and fingerprinting * This is a payroll position * Reliable, patient, responsible, and comfortable providing gentle redirection If you are interested, please PM me with a little about yourself and your experience.
