Family needs a part time caretaker starting Monday, Oct 12

About this nanny job

We're looking for a warm, reliable and engaging after-school nanny/family assistant for our two kids, ages 9 and 7, in Wallingford. Hours are 3:45 to 6:30 PM, Monday to Friday (the kids are dropped off at home, so no school pickup), and we can guarantee regular weekly hours for the right person. We'd also love someone with some flexibility for occasional earlier or later hours, school holidays and date nights. The kids are at great ages, so we're looking for someone who enjoys spending time with them: helping with homework, hanging out and playing, driving them to activities in your own car (mileage reimbursed), helping them stay organized and generally being a positive, dependable part of their afternoons. When the kids are occupied, we'd appreciate light family help such as putting away dishes, tidying the kitchen or kids' areas, helping with backpacks/kids' laundry, or simple organizing. We are not looking for a housekeeper. We have a dog, but no dog care is needed. We're looking for someone who is extremely reliable and punctual, warm and engaging with school-age kids, responsible and mature, comfortable helping with homework, a safe driver with reliable transportation, and interested in building a longer-term relationship with our family. Pay is $28 to $32/hour depending on experience. Most importantly, we want to find someone the kids really enjoy being around and who enjoys being with them.
