My educational background, combined with my experience as a mother to a wonderful 6-year-old son, has given me a deep appreciation for how important the early years are in shaping confidence, curiosity, and emotional well-being. I currently own and operate my own Event Management company, which allows me to work from home and maintain a flexible schedule. This summer, my son is spending time with his dad for two months, giving me even greater availability to support families with their childcare needs. Childcare for me once was a hobby that has blossomed into my life long purpose. I have always adored children and take pride in being a part of so many family, friends and associates’ villages. I have been a nanny both part time and full time for multiples and a nanny share. Currently, I’ve received my Child Development Associate, I am a full time assistant teacher at a daycare, & a direct support provider for a child with special needs, 4 years and counting. After school hours and most weekends I am a babysitter for local, school and referred clients. In the past few years I’ve focused on expanding my knowledge and experience. I hold several certifications & undergo extensive trainings to comply with both state & daycare regulations. I will always go above and beyond to grow, as no day is the same and I love that I get to tap into my fun side. I am amazing with kids I started a reading club for younger kids in my community back home in Michigan, I also have tutored elementary, middle, and high school kids in my community for many years in mathematics and English. Along with this I play two instruments, the piano and string bass, where I’ve competed and played for numerous charities. I am an avid volunteer and love to help others! Hello! I am transplant to Utah and enjoyed babysitting as a hobby in DC before my move! I am very much so a people person I spend lots of time networking and performing on stage in front of hundreds of people. When it comes to kids they tend to love me because I am high energy, funny, creative, but also very responsible. While making sure kids have fun I also make sure they are in a safe environment and doing things that promote good behavior. For instance, playing games such as Simon Says, Follow the Leader, Obstacle Course, Reading. All those games are fun but they also learn problem solving. I'm a recent graduate from Howard University with a degree in International Affairs and Community Development. My first experience working with children was at Blackstone Bicycle Works, teaching youth 6-13 how to ride a bike, bike mechanic skills, customer service skills, as well as lots of mentoring and tutoring. I've babysat siblings ranging from 4-10 yrs old since I was 16. I recently left my teaching position at Chicago Excel Academy in the Roseland community and wanted to jump back into more personal youth development and care.
