Hi everyone! My name is Diego, I’m 27 years old and originally from Brazil. I’ve been living in the U.S. for almost six years and recently graduated from the University of San Francisco with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. While my academic background is in business, my heart has always been with children and community work. My journey with kids began when I was 15 years old. I worked as a children’s party monitor for four years, where I was responsible for caring for kids, feeding them, organizing games, dancing, face painting, and creating a fun and safe environment. That experience sparked my passion for childcare and led me to the U.S., where I became an au pair. Over the past two years, I’ve been caring for two amazing boys, now aged 6 and 8. My daily responsibilities include waking them up, preparing meals, driving them to and from school, helping with homework, taking them to their activities (like soccer, baseball, and basketball), doing their laundry, cooking for them, and helping maintain their routine. It’s been an incredibly rewarding experience, teaching me responsibility, empathy, and a deep appreciation for child development. In addition to childcare, I coach youth soccer through Project Play Potrero, a community program in San Francisco. I work with children from kindergarten through sixth grade at schools like Live Oak. Coaching allows me to share my passion for soccer while helping kids build confidence, teamwork skills, and a love for physical activity. On a personal note, I come from a big family in Brazil—I have three sisters, two brothers, and a small dog named Malu. She’s a wild little miniature pinscher who used to wait for me at the stairs every day after work. I miss her deeply and can’t wait to see her again. Hi there! My name is Gigi. I'm originally from Seattle and currently live in Bushwick/Ridgewood. I attended the University of San Francisco, where I graduated summa cum laude with a BA in Media Studies. I have been in NYC since 2018 and worked as a long term nanny and family assistant until 2023, when I stepped away to focus on my artistic pursuits! I was a dancer for a long while and have more recently been pursuing performance art and physical theatre by way of theatre clowning! I am taking a show I have written and directed with a dear friend to Edinburgh Fringe Festival later this summer :). I have missed working with young ones and so I am back! Play, discovery, and having a healthy relationship with The Flop (failure) is important to my work as a performance artist as well as when I work with kids. I'm learning no other work is as enriching or fulfilling...so here I am! I am passionate about nurturing and supporting a child's creativity, curiosity, and individuality, as well as building healthy self-esteem! While I don't have any official certifications or training in childcare, I've learned a lot and have had great success through teaching dance and tutoring. In my own personal life, a lot of work is centered on using the arts as a healing modality, as well as working through generational trauma and dysfunctional family patterns and behaviors. I find that this work has taught me to become a more empathetic, nurturing, and patient person and has greatly impacted how I relate to children in particular.
