Hi! My name is Hue (or Emily). I’ve been working with a family in the Panhandle since their baby girl was 8 months old, and she has now started preschool. I’ve been with them for 4+ years and am currently looking for a part-time or full-time position. I have over 10 years of experience caring for infants and toddlers. A typical day with a baby includes breakfast, a bottle before the morning nap, lunch with solid foods, and another bottle before the afternoon nap. During the day, I incorporate indoor activities like music, reading, and helping develop motor skills such as crawling, standing, and walking. I also make it a priority to get outside every day - whether it’s going to the park or library for story time - so they can get fresh air, build social skills, and interact with other children. I make sure everything related to the child is clean and organized, including diaper changes, washing bottles, preparing meals, and bathing before parents get home. I’ve had the joy of supporting many important milestones, such as crawling, first teeth, introducing solid foods, sleep training, standing, walking, and nap transitions. While there can be challenges - like sleep training, feeding transitions, or adjusting schedules - I’m patient and experienced in helping both children and parents through those stages. For toddlers, I help with daily routines such as breakfast, snacks, playground time, story time or music classes, lunch, and naps. I also assist with dishes and laundry when needed. I truly enjoy spending time with kids and building a strong, caring relationship with them. I love keeping children active with outdoor activities like going to the park, scootering, biking, and dancing, rather than relying on screens. I also enjoy cooking healthy meals for kids (such as meatballs, beef, salmon, and chicken), and I’m happy to help with light household tasks like dishes, laundry, and organizing children’s spaces. Hi parents! A little about me: I'm an independent visual artist, musician, and dancer, and I like to write, read, study languages, spend time with animals, and travel. I graduated with a BA from University of San Francisco in 2014, as a Media Studies major with Spanish and Gender Studies minors. I am vaccinated for COVID-19 and promptly receive booster vaccinations. I have tons of experience with kids! I have used UrbanSitter since 2012, and have had the opportunity to work with kids of all ages - particularly infants as young as 3 months, toddlers, and 3-to-5-year olds. I’m great with older kids as well - in the past I have also coached cheerleading to ages 6-14, worked as a lifeguard and swimming instructor for children aged 6 months to 13 years, tutored middle school-aged kids in a variety of subjects, and worked in a candy store swarming with little ones. In high school, I began volunteering with a therapeutic horsemanship for children with cognitive, developmental, and learning disabilities. I am a biology major in a Pre-Med track at the University of San Francisco to get me closer to my goal of becoming an anesthesiologist. While growing up in Philly, I had four much older siblings, the closest to me is still 9 years older. I say this because it shows just how it was possible for me to become an aunt by the age of four. Every year or two there has been a new baby added to the family, so I was always the go-to for babysitting when they needed one. I started watching them by myself at the age of 12 because my family knew I was mature enough to. I have watched my six nieces and three nephews countless times for my siblings, their ages ranging from 2 months to 8 years old. Not only did I babysit for my siblings but for their friends and sometimes my neighbors too. I think this just goes to show just how much experience I have with children of all ages. Now, my nieces and nephews would describe me as the "cool" aunt, because I never fail to do something fun with them while I am with them. Things like going to the playground, coloring, playing tons of boardgames, or hide and go seek, etc. Besides that I also have been a tutor in Philadelphia, both at school and on the side. I am always the first my neighbors' or siblings' children come to when homework help is needed. I like to make sure the child understands what I am doing rather than just doing the work for them. Not only do I get to teach the children something or become their friend but they also teach me something new all the time.
