My name is Makenna! I have been working in early childhood education for four years, children ranging from ages of 6 weeks to 6 years. I am currently a preschool teacher, teaching ages 3-4 years old in a learning through play environment. I am very big on communication as I know there can’t be trust between a family and the caretaker they choose for their child. Having a daily routine is an amazing thing to have with children and I am able to follow that schedule with given instructions and keep the house rules for your child as not to disturb a child’s daily routine. One of my favorite activities to do with children is art! I am not afraid of a mess as messes can be cleaned up;paint, play dough or coloring. In my free time I like to be outside, spending time with family or coming into these cold fall days staying in for a movie and some soup. As I do currently work a full time job 6:30-3:30, I am only available for weekday evening part-time or one-time job offers and available most weekends. My childcare journey began at 12, babysitting in my church nursery, but it was my younger brother’s birth when I was 13 that truly ignited my passion for caring for little ones. Helping raise him next to a hard working single mother showed me how much I love nurturing and guiding children through their early years. Since then, I’ve gained over ten years of experience as a nanny, overnight caregiver, home manager, and preschool teacher. I’ve also worked as a professionally trained doula, further deepening my understanding of child development and family support. I’m also an active person and grew up participating in team sports, including soccer and swim team, which taught me the value of energy, focus, and teamwork—qualities I bring to my caregiving. I love creating fun, engaging moments to help kids learn, grow, and explore their world. Hi! I'm a full-time nanny with 3 years of experience caring for children of all ages.
