Hey, I’m Teara! I am outgoing and fun. I like to do arts and crafts, story time, creative/messy games outside(depending on their preferences for weather, of course!) and am always open to trying/learning new thing to do with kids! I am a great communicator and willing give updates throughout the day. I’ve always enjoyed being around kids, along with animals. I love to watch them learn, develop new skills, question things or explain in ways we as adults don’t often think of and watching them find new interests. I have worked with kids for almost 10 years ranging from infants(2mo) -to preteens (12-13). I also have experience and am confident in my abilities when working with multiple young children at once. (1:4 ratio from ages 3 months- 2 years old) I started out with home babysitting for my family then eventually turned into family nannying for other families near me. I have continued to nanny part time for a few families over the last 10 years. Eventually, I found a daycare part time while in HS. & Also worked at a Child Development Center as the Wobbler Assistant & Lead Toddler Teacher for over six years. I have two kiddos of my own- 5 and 3 who love to socialize as well! I’ve recently taken a step back from working in a childcare setting (I definitely still try to stay updated and informed on trainings and child developmental info being learned/taught to teachers and caregivers) and just been taking on part time, last minute, date night gigs! However, I am open to something consistent if it seems like a great fit for everyone. My love and passion for kids has always been there. I continue to do trainings, learn about development and stay up to date on all the child info :) I am also COVID cautious; fully vaccinated, willing to wear a mask, and limiting my exposures. •Meal prep •Homework help •School drop off/pick up •Background check completed •TB test cleared •CPR first aid, blood borne pathogens, & HIV/AIDS certified •Food handlers card •Recognizing/reporting abuse/neglect •Clean driving record, Safe car •Health & Safety •RIE •PBIS I am looking forward to meeting new families through this site & helping out as much as possible.

Teara is amazing. Kind, reliable, and my kiddo loves spending time with her. She is the best

Hi there! My name is Anna and I'm a reporter living in Portland, Oregon. I used UrbanSitter while in college and post graduation, and am now returning after a couple of years working with a few families. I have nearly two years experience working in a daycare center in Portland, and spent 4 months assisting in a school for children with intellectual and physical disabilities abroad. I am very passionate about early childhood education and have worked with various organizations in my hometown on issues affecting youth. I would love the opportunity to get to know you and your kids, whether you’re in town for a weekend or looking for regular evening care. Thanks for reading! Please note, I require 50% payment for same-day cancellations and for any time scheduled but not worked (i.e. returning earlier than scheduled end time). I am often flexible on end times, but I require 1.5x pay for late returns that aren’t mutually agreed to.

Hello, I am born and raised here Portland! I have two younger sisters and began caretaking at an early age. I incorporate mindfulness into my caretaking and engage every child's unique development. My calm demeanor and goofy spirit allows children of all ages to feel comfortable and safe. I'm also an artist and painter, so I enjoy creating crafty activities for kids!

Sierra was great! She arrived early and was very good with the kids, playing with them, reading to them at bedtime and even staying with my son until he went to sleep. We will use her again and would recommend her. Thank you!

My name is Makenna! I have been working in early childhood education for four years, children ranging from ages of 6 weeks to 6 years. I am currently a preschool teacher, teaching ages 3-4 years old in a learning through play environment. I am very big on communication as I know there can’t be trust between a family and the caretaker they choose for their child. Having a daily routine is an amazing thing to have with children and I am able to follow that schedule with given instructions and keep the house rules for your child as not to disturb a child’s daily routine. One of my favorite activities to do with children is art! I am not afraid of a mess as messes can be cleaned up;paint, play dough or coloring. In my free time I like to be outside, spending time with family or coming into these cold fall days staying in for a movie and some soup. As I do currently work a full time job 6:30-3:30, I am only available for weekday evening part-time or one-time job offers and available most weekends. I am CPR/First aid certified Please reach out if you have any questions at all for me or interested in me caring for your child.

"When we hired Amani, we felt like we hit the jackpot. We were very lucky to find her on UrbanSitter at the beginning of school year. She was picking up kids from school, taking them to afternoon activities, helping them with assignments. She prepped food for them, helped organize their closets and keep their spaces neat and orderly. We would hire her again in a heartbeat."
