Hi, I'm Shak! As the eldest in a large family, childcare has been a part of my life from a young age. I began as a mother's helper in 2009 and now have 16 years of active childcare experience. I've worked primarily with newborns and toddlers, but I love working with children of all ages. I bring an empathy-first approach to every family I work with. For infants, I specialize in sleep training and mother's helper support, and I'm happy to work alongside new parents through that journey every step of the way. I also focus on early language development through textures, sounds, rhythm, and music. With toddlers, I lean into interest led play, imagination building, curiosity about the world, early reading and counting. Hi! My name is Makayla, I was born and raised in San Francisco. I’m 25 years old and started watching my cousins, from infants to teenagers, when I was around 12 years old. I started sitting at 16 and throughout the years I’ve cared for children ranging from 4 months through 11+ years old. Playing with and watching children has always come naturally to me. I enjoy doing activities that they are interested in and always make sure they're enjoying our time together :) In addition, I have experience with children with special needs and have had training with ABA on working with children with moderate autism.
