Hi, I'm Shak! As the eldest in a large family, childcare has been a part of my life from a young age. I began as a mother's helper in 2009 and now have 16 years of active childcare experience. I've worked primarily with newborns and toddlers, but I love working with children of all ages. I bring an empathy-first approach to every family I work with. For infants, I specialize in sleep training and mother's helper support, and I'm happy to work alongside new parents through that journey every step of the way. I also focus on early language development through textures, sounds, rhythm, and music. With toddlers, I lean into interest led play, imagination building, curiosity about the world, early reading and counting. For school-age kids and teens, I emphasize active listening, healthy boundaries, and creating safe spaces for authentic expression. I also have meaningful experience with neurodiverse children who benefit from a different level of engagement and care. And since I studied classical text and diction, I love putting that to use — making up plays, collaborative storytelling, theatre games, you name it! But I'm just as happy getting active: bike rides, fort building, kite flying at the beach, little hikes, and whatever else sparks joy. I have a very low cancellation rate. Hi! I’m Yuri, a recent graduate from San Francisco State University with a Master’s degree in Cell Biology. I’m currently looking for occasional babysitting opportunities, especially for date nights and weekend help! I’ve been babysitting professionally for about 12 years and also grew up helping care for my 6 younger siblings. As a San Francisco native, I love building strong connections with local families and creating fun, enriching experiences for kids. I especially enjoy nurturing children’s creativity and curiosity through arts and crafts, reading in silly voices, building forts, digging for “gems” in edible sand (blended cereal!), Legos, nature walks, museums, and play groups. Hi! I have always loved working and engaging with children of all ages. I've been babysitting on and off for kids age 6mo - 12 y/o over the years, including my nephew and friends' children when they need extra backup or simply because I love the 1:1 time with them. I've done sleepover sitting and bedtime routines, school drop off/pick ups, homework help, lots of fun field trip adventures with older kids, creative projects or games at home, etc. I'm comfortable and confident with any aged child. In 2021 I took a professional sabbatical during which time I worked as a substitute teacher with Mission Montessori (for the pure enjoyment of it), working with children 6 months - 3 years old. I have also volunteered as a reading and homework tutor of elementary school-aged children in the past. I'm very good with kids - patient, child-centered and love to make them feel seen and supported emotionally while encouraging their creativity and learning. If you have pets: I’m very comfortable and happy with pets in the home and pet care on a sitting job. Im currently an SPCA dog volunteer so get especially excited about dogs :).

Pet and house sitting. -RATES: My rates are the same whether the child is awake or asleep and the rate per hour depends on the amount of chores and responsibilities I’ll be in charge of. I charge double time for the following holidays: New Year's Eve, New Year's Day, Valentine's Day, 4th of July, Thanksgiving Day, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and Day after Christmas. CANCELATIONS: I understand that plans change. However, I do recommend a 48-hour notice so I can try to fulfill my calendar with a new booking. BOOKINGS: I charge for the full time I was booked for , regardless if I get dismissed earlier than expected because I plan my time and my budget around my bookings. So please, give me a 48h notice if you need to cancel. Also, if you plan on arriving later than expected, please let me know at least 1 hour before the booking is supposed to end. I'm usually flexible with late arrivals, but sometimes I have more than one booking on the same day, and your late arrival can negatively affect the rest of my day. Thanks for reading! :)
