Hi, I’m Sal (they/them)! I am a queer 31 year old childcare worker living in the bay. I’ve been babysitting since I was 15 and since then I’ve been a nanny, daycare/preschool teacher/assistant/sub, camp counselor, afterschool program teacher, and climbing facilitator for birthday parties and field trips at my local gym. I face paint as a side gig, love to camp and be outside in general, rock climb, and hang out with my friends and my cat. Originally I went to school for fine arts and that comes across with arts and crafts when I’m with kiddos. I’ve made curriculum for art clubs at programs in the past and would happily do that if you have an art loving child as well. I prioritize outside time, creek explorations, and helping kids learn how to be safe in their bodies and minds. I just earned my assistant teacher certificate at Merrit Community Collage and am continuing to take more classes for child care there. I completed my Master of Social Work at NYU in 2022, and prior to grad school, I was a kindergarten teacher for 7 years. I love exploring and learning with kids, and my teaching experience was focused on combining social and emotional wellness with project-based, exploratory learning.
