Hi! My name is Jamiese, but I also go by Miese (pronounced Me-C)! I’m currently a student at San José State University studying Criminology, with plans to pursue a career in law. I have several years of experience working with children of different ages through nannying, babysitting, summer camps, and youth sports programs. I currently work with multiple families throughout the Bay Area, providing morning care, after-school care, transportation to and from activities, and occasional evening and weekend babysitting. I’m a very outgoing, patient, responsible, and energetic person who genuinely enjoys working with children. I love keeping kids active and engaged, whether that’s spending time outdoors, doing arts and crafts, playing games, helping with homework, or finding fun activities that match their interests. My childcare experience encompasses caring for children of all ages. I am a Teacher's assistant/Para Educator for Sunnyvale School District during the school year (Aug-June),going into my 9th year this fall. I primarily work with Preschool aged children in a Special Day class and Inclusion Classroom settings, with both typically developing children and students with Special needs. I'm married and a mother of a 21 year old, 18 year old and a 14 year old with high functioning Autism and ADD. My two younger children and myself are competitive athletes, so when we are not competing or training, I'm looking for a way to use my free time helping others and earning a little bit of extra money to fund my children's endeavors as well as pay the bills during my summer hiatus as an Educator. Prior to working as an educator, I spent 10 years as a stay at home mother raising my children as well as caring for other infants, toddlers and school aged children throughout my adult life. In my spare time over the past 3 years, I have been studying Early Childhood Education and have obtained 10 ECE units while working towards my AA in PreK Education. Throughout my years working with children I have undergone various trainings including but not limited to: Trauma informed practices/care for children, Personalized Oral Language Learning (POLL), Early learning through Play, Mandated reporter Training, Sexual harassment prevention, Safety Care and CPR/First aid. I'm a very active person and enjoy the outdoors, bike riding, reading, music and exercise. I'm able to run, crawl, climb, jump, dance and be active with kids as needed! I am also fluent in Spanish! I love animals and I have a dog, cat and chickens, so I'm open to helping care for pets as well! I have had my class C drivers license for 20 years (additionally class M for 3 years), full coverage auto insurance and a reliable personal car which accommodates 7 passengers total. A last piece of info about me, is that prior to becoming a mother I worked for Merry Maids and am no stranger to cleaning as well as cooking and running errands. I am fluent in English, a native Portuguese speaker, a pharmacist in Brazil, certified in First Aid and CPR, and trained in child care for lab tests with experience in hospital routines.
