I realize I miss having kiddos around and love to spend time, teach, cook, play with them. I taught cooking school for kids so that’s an activity I have lots of experience with! I love pets too and happy to take both human and fur babies on urban adventures.

Hi! I’m a 4th Grade teacher in Denver Public Schools district on summer break. I’ve taught elementary grade levels (all subjects!) for 6 years. Throughout the years, I’ve taught 3rd grade, 2nd grade, and 4th grade. I am very familiar with the Literacy and Math standards progression from K-5 and the strategies/language students need to learn to reach their academic goals. In past summers, I have taught summer school, coordinated summer camps, and worked for the parks and rec department a coaching soccer and basketball. I believe that learning needs to be a great mix of hard work and fun! This summer, I decided to take the summer off and not commit to a full time position. Hello! My name is Lauren, and I am a mom to a 2.5-year-old. I am CPR and first aid certified. In addition to this, I've had many different experiences caring for children, ranging from being a nanny to teaching and working at youth organizations and schools. Experience: --I was a nanny for a 13- and 14-year-old the summer after college. --I worked at a home for children in Mexico for three years, where I cared for the children and helped with various education projects. --I taught reading and writing at an elementary school and was a Community School Director at a junior high. --I have a Master’s Degree in International Development and Education and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Policy. Beyond childcare, I also have experience caring for animals. At home, I take care of our two dogs as well as geese, ducks, and chickens.
