Hi all! My name is Mary Rose, and I’m a second year PhD student studying Clinical and Pediatric Psychology and living in Washington, DC. I’m available this summer for daytime and evening babysitting on select days. I love working with and caring for children of all ages! I'm new to UrbanSitter, but I have 10+ years of experience serving as an assistant teacher, swim instructor, and summer camp counselor for children 4 to 12 years old at multiple programs in the DMV. I enjoy leading arts and crafts project, science and reading activities, and field trips to the Zoo, museums, and the pool! In addition to being CPR-certified, I can cook meals and contribute to tasks such as laundry and household tidying. I also offer academic tutoring services in language arts, social studies, and writing for older children, and provide feedback and writing support for applications to college and graduate school.

Hi there! I am a recent graduate living in DC with my 11-month-old kitten Callie. I work at an afterschool program for pre-K kids run by the Y and do lots of babysitting throughout the DMV! I have experience with babies, teens, and everything in between, including caring for multiples! I have a car, love pets, and can handle bedtime, bathtime, feeding, outings, household chores, and whatever else you can throw at me! In my free time, I love to read, do crafts, hike, and go to the gym. I'm volunteering with the Archives and Natural History Museum, and hope to work in children's programming at museums! I love encouraging curiosity and creative thought, and encouraging kids to develop and appreciate themselves and the wonderful world we live in :)

My kids had a great time with Molly!

Booked by 1 family in Washington, DC

Hello! My name is Abby, I’m 27 years old and I have lived in DC for the last 5 years! I moved here from Wisconsin in 2020 to earn my Master’s in Political Science at American University which I got in 2022, and currently work at the Administration for Children and Families at HHS. I’ve been at HHS for the last 3 years, and previously worked on the Hill and in campaigns. I have experience watching children from infancy to pre-teens, and love working with all age groups! Additionally, I have a bachelor’s in psychology with a focus in child/adolescent and social psychology, and worked full time in a daycare while in college with toddlers-school aged children. I am a pet lover, and have a dog of my own! I have access to a car, and a clean driving record. I love to cook, read, play games and craft, and will do all the above with your children so they have fun and are stimulated! I always follow parental guidance on screens and technology, and am more than happy to keep your kids off them and keep them entertained through play and creativity! As I do work a full time job, I am mostly available on weekends and the occasional weeknight evening after 6:30pm.

Abby was great! My kids gave rave reviews. She was communicative, punctual, and very sweet. We will definitely use her again.

After rescuing, fostering & volunteering with animals in Charlotte NC, I immediately knew the next step was to open a pet care service business once I moved to Washington DC. I am the business owner. See Fairy Tails, LLC for Yelp reviews.
