Booked by 4 families in Washington, DC

Hi! My name is Claire, and I'm a recent college graduate from Columbia University. I love working with kids, and have been tutoring, babysitting, and volunteering as a camp counselor since I was 14 years old. I've worked with youth of all ages, from kindergarteners to high schoolers, for about ten years. I am currently an English tutor and volunteer mentor to refugee high school students with the International Rescue Committee. I consider myself a friendly person who loves reading bedtime stories and crafting. I'm more than happy to help with homework as well. While I'm not a native speaker, I was a Spanish tutor in high school and would be happy to help little ones with introductory level language practice. I'm also more than happy to help care for any furry friends or elderly loved ones you have at home. I look forward to meeting you! Update: Hi everyone, thank you to all the lovely families with whom I have had the joy of working during my time in DC! I will be moving to New York in June to begin a new job, so I unfortunately will only be able to take on one-time jobs over the next month for families in DC. Thank you!

Claire was great! Our daughter kept talking about her the next day.

I am the mom to an awesome 24 year old daughter and in my spare time I love to spend time with family, read and cook! I have up to date Cpr/first aid, fully vaccinated as well. I have a background in Child Development, spent 16 years teaching preschool, caring for children between the ages of 3 months-12 years and the last 13 years working as a professional nanny! When nannying/babysitting I enjoy doing arts and crafts, tummy time, playing outside, building with blocks/legos, singing songs, reading books, blowing bubbles and giving plenty of TLC! Thanks for visiting my profile and I hope you pick me to care for your child!

Hyattsville
$21 per hour for 1 child

Hello families, I’m currently looking for a part-time babysitting position for a few hours in the afternoon, a few days a week. I have over 20 years of hands-on experience caring for children of all ages, from infants to school-aged kids. I’m also a mother of two school-aged children myself, which has deepened my understanding of children’s needs, routines, and development. Here are a few things I bring to the role: • Extensive experience with multiple children and families over the years • CPR/First Aid knowledge (optional – let me know if you’re certified and want to add that) • Safe and reliable transportation – I have a clean driving record and my own car • Flexible, dependable, and punctual • Basic Spanish speaker – comfortable communicating and supporting bilingual children • Organized and proactive – I can help with after-school routines, homework, snack prep, and light tidying • Loving, calm, and attentive approach to every child I care for I pride myself on creating a safe, nurturing, and fun environment for kids, while also respecting the routines and values of each family. Please feel free to reach out if you’re looking for a trustworthy and experienced babysitter for your family!

Both our boys,9 and 3, had so much fun with Michaela. She played games with them, puzzles, read books, took them outside for a walk and prepared food for them. She communicated great with us the entire time - she also sent us several pictures of our boys playing together to keep us updated. She’s very engaging, communicative and friendly. Our boys absolutely love her (they were super excited to play with her again). We felt she became a very important part of our family. We miss her!
