Booked by 4 families in Brooklyn, NY

Hello! I am currently a full-time therapist and per diem family support specialist. I am looking to earn extra income to help with my student loans. I have many years of experience with and a passion for helping children of all ages and developmental stages. I can provide child, senior, and pet care. I have been a babysitter for over 12 years, starting when I was in early high school. Additionally, I was a camp counselor for four years (children from 1st grade to juniors in high school), a YMCA afterschool counselor for one year (for 26 pre-K and 1st graders), and a teacher's aide (for 3 pre-K classes) for one year. I have worked with children from pre-K to high school. I have experience working with children and teens who have intellectual and developmental disabilities, existing on a range of verbal and nonverbal capacities, as well as children in foster care. I also helped care for seniors with chronic health conditions for a year too. I have provided these populations a range of services, including but not limited to safe supervised play, arts and crafts, tutoring, prepared snacks, and social skills. I was an executive assistant for a year so I can help with any administrative assistance. I can also help with household chores, errands, grocery shopping. I have been a pet (both dogs and cats) sitter, boarder, and walker for five years. I walked (two times per week for an hour), sat, and boarded one dog specifically regularly for one year. Overall, I have a passion, experience, and the care for working with children, seniors, and pets of all ages. I am kind, fun, detailed, and genuine.

Creative, reliable, patient, and understanding. I have 15+ years experience working with children of all ages. As the oldest of 15 cousins, I began babysitting early and have always loved working with kids. I spent six summers as both a counselor and Arts + Crafts Department Head at an overnight camp in New Hampshire for kids ages 8-18, and earned degrees in Elementary and Special Education from the University of Vermont. I will always treat your little ones with respect and am comfortable navigating big emotions or challenging behaviors with a cool head and a positive outlook. I love finding fun and creative ways to make mundane tasks exciting, and love learning about children's interests and personalities to help them grow into their truest selves. I can support caregiving, learning, extracurriculars, household chores... I'm happy to jump in and help make your day-to-day a little easier! I have some experience with pets (mostly cats + dogs) and while I have less experience with senior care, I am confident that I have the right demeanor and skillset to provide those services if needed. A bit more about me: I enjoy cooking, live music, art, and exploring the city as a recent transplant from Quincy, MA. I spent the past six years working for a 3D Printing startup based in Boston where I lead Workplace Experience and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion efforts. My partner's career has recently brought us to NYC, a move I have been wanting to make for quite some time now. I visited the city frequently before our move and have a large network of friends living here, so while I am a new resident I have spent substantial time here and am comfortable with basic safety and transportation routes. If I seem like a good fit for your family's needs, please reach out to chat!

Maria Brooklyn
$30 per hour for 1 child

Hello Parents. As an experienced nanny and mother, I bring a warm, dependable, and nurturing approach to childcare. I actively engage children in meaningful activities that promote learning, development, and creativity while helping them reach important milestones. I specialize in caring for children ages 0–5. As a single mother, I successfully balanced raising my child with a rewarding career working alongside publishing industry leaders. I greatly enjoyed supporting my child's school community through volunteer work, participation in school events and field trips, and contributions to the school library. After many years in the corporate world, I made the intentional decision to return to childcare—a role that has always brought me immense joy and fulfillment. I understand the importance of providing families with experienced, trustworthy, dependable, and flexible support, and I take pride in helping children thrive in a safe and nurturing environment. My experience working with children began early. As a student, I served as a High School Music Advisor and Little League Softball Coach while also providing consistent, nurturing childcare for several families over a ten-year period. During that time, I cared for children ranging from infancy through age 12, developing a strong foundation in child development, communication, and family support before becoming a mother myself. I would be pleased to discuss your childcare needs.
