Hi, I’m Kyundra! I’m 27 and have been working in and out of childcare since 2016. I’ve lived in NYC for the past five years and have loved every minute of getting to know families across the city. Since moving here, I’ve worked in several childcare settings including 4K classrooms with the DOE, after-school programs, and as a trusted babysitter for families with children of all ages. What I love most about working with kids is getting to know their unique personalities and finding ways to connect with each one. Whether it’s through creative play, helping with routines, or supporting learning and independence, I always strive to make children feel seen, supported, and safe. I’m also comfortable around pets (I have a sweet cat named Viola who keeps me company at home!) and I’m open to light household help. While I don’t have a personal car, I do have my license and am happy to travel by public transportation anywhere I’m needed. Currently a media professional, I’ve always loved caring for others. I grew up with the mindset that if you take care of your community, your community will take care of you. I worked at my family’s daycare center for 5 years while in high school and some throughout college. While in college a volunteered at an underserved after school program, where I established a library and secured grants to expand the program. Working with families and children, while helping them flourish has always been a passion.

I'm a warm, loving, energetic and young at heart childcare professional, and passionate about giving high-quality care. Besides free play, I create activities that are both fun and educational, and incorporate music and art into a child’s day. I cultivate a safe, warm, and comfortable environment in which children can learn, develop, and express themselves while also nurturing social skills. I’m experienced at establishing routines and setting rules and boundaries in a gentle manner, always using positive language. Before I became a childcare professional, I first had two children of my own, a girl and a boy, two years apart. Raising them has been my biggest endeavor and accomplishment so far. They are now in college. It was the passion of raising my own two children, and my desire to understand how I could best support them on their way to become well-rounded and successful adults, which inspired me to to study and earn a B.A. in Early Childhood Education and turn this passion into my profession.  During my 10yrs of working with children ranging in age from newborn to 9yrs old, I was as a nanny of an infant with a sibling, a group teacher of 25 kids, a care teacher for a pod of 4, including twins, and a co-teacher for 6 kids, 18mo-5yrs. These varied experiences with children, both in private homes and teaching in more formal preschool settings, as well as parenting, has equipped me with a unique blend of insights and skills, ideal for nurturing and educating children.  I particularly enjoy working with babies, toddlers and preschoolers, and have proven many times, that I am able to take care of multiple children at a time, whether they are twins, or siblings different ages. Additionally, I would like to stress, that I am not only fluent in English, but German and French as well, should you wish to expose your children to other languages.  Besides childcare I am happy to help with kid's laundry, keeping their rooms organized and clean, doing light housekeeping, cooking and baking, both healthy, child-friendly, and if desired vegetarian. In my private time I enjoy cooking nutritious and delicious recipes, including various dips, spreads and sugar-free treats, always adding to my little recipe repertoire for children. I also like to stay physically active with riding bike, pilates, swimming and dancing. I'm looking for additional babysitting 10am-3pm weekdays and weekday evenings from 7pm/7:15 on, with occasional weekends.
