My name is Sofia, I'm 24 years old and I've been babysitting since I was 15 years old. I absolutely love children and animals, and can't wait to have children of my own some day. I graduated from Scripps College during Spring 2023. The families I have babysat for in the past describe me as kind, loving, responsible, communicative, and encouraging. I grew up abroad and babysat for an American family twice a week in high school, ages 6 and 10; I babysat a family friend's 4 year old over the summer when I was 17 years old; and most recently, I was a regular babysitter for a family in California as a college student, ages 5 and 8. I am half Japanese/half Russian and feel very comfortable in multicultural familial environments. I like to connect with children as my equal, while maintaining a responsible and trusting relationship. I also have grown up around animals and have experience pet/house sitting. I love to cook for myself and would be happy to cook nutritious and delicious meals for your children! I am happy to meet your family's needs, whether this involves children, animals, or cleaning duties/errands. I look forward to speaking with you soon!
Hello there! My name is Cameron and I am offering babysitting services in Brooklyn and Manhattan. I am new to Urban Sitter, but not new to babysitting! I have experience with children ages two through twelve. I was also an overnight chaperone for the Kennedy Center Dance Lab in 2023. I also have experience in dance education. I have taught a range of students from ages 5-18. Teaching has given me so much knowledge about how to tend to children of different natures, temperaments, and personalities! I graduated from Howard University with a B.F.A in Dance Arts, and currently work for a dance company called Urban Bush Women. I will keep your little ones active, entertained, and creative in spirit! Additionally, I am CPR certified and the eldest of five siblings. Feel free to reach out with any questions or inquiries!
Hello! My name is Fátima and I am a second grade teacher. I am offering child care, pet care, and household services. As an educator, I have several years of experience working with school-age children of all ages. In additional to general child care, I can also offer academic support in a range of disciplines, particularly all elementary school subjects, social sciences, literature, and college prep (SAT and essay writing mostly. I worked for my college's Admissions Office all four years, so I have a few insider tips!). I am also a native Spanish speaker and have tutored and TAed the language before, so I am able to support language learners of all skill levels. I have some experience volunteering with younger children, including infants and toddlers, and have looked out for my own younger family members in the past. I can clean, run errands, and cook and meal prep. I don't have access to a car. I had my own dog prior to coming to NY and currently live with a cat, so I am happy to work with both pets!
Hi! I'm Haneen — a product designer with a background in architecture, and someone who has genuinely always loved being around kids. I grew up looking after younger siblings and cousins, and have helped out friends and family as a babysitter over the years, so I'm comfortable with the rhythms of caring for little ones even if it's not my full-time world. I'm creative by nature and training, and I'd love to bring that into time spent with kids, teaching them to draw, paint, work through a puzzle, or just make something fun with whatever's around. I speak Arabic fluently too, which kids tend to find pretty exciting. I'm available part-time and happy to work with most age groups, I don't have a specialty, but I'm attentive, patient, and good at reading what a kid needs in the moment. One small thing: I'm allergic to cats, so homes with cats aren't a great fit, but dogs are totally fine by me! If you're looking for someone reliable, warm, and a little creative to spend time with your kids, I'd love to connect.
Hello, my name is Aurora! I have a lot of experience with infants and young children, and am eager to work with your family! For the past two years I've been nannying an infant who is now going off to daycare! In this position I gained experience in guiding an infant through all the major developmental milestones including transitioning from bottle-feeding to solids, creating a sleep schedule, first steps, first words, and all the other fun changes that come in those first couple years. I absolutely love working with this age-range and am pursuing a degree to become a perinatal psychologist so I can eventually work with parents and babies in a mental health setting. Outside of nannying, I just completed a two-year internship at Columbia University where I studied mother-baby psychology and attachment. This greatly informs my work with families and infants! I completed my B.S. in Psychological and Brain Sciences at the University of California, Santa Barbara where I also worked as an assistant preschool teacher. In this role I worked in both infant classrooms and 3-to-5 year-old classrooms. I loved building rapport with the children and forming close bonds with the families! Outside of these roles, I also worked at the Brooklyn Autism Center with older children and have experience babysitting 4 to 5 year-olds. I'm happy to talk in-depth about any of these experiences! Outside of work and school, I love spending time outdoors and being creative! As your nanny, I would love to take your kiddos to the park and set up art activities with them! Thank you for your time and I'm excited to meet your family!
