Hello! I am an artist with my Master's of Fine Arts in Acting from Yale, mother of two school-age children, and I have lived in NYC for four years. I'm happy around shy or high-energy children. I love finding ways to reach them that make them feel accepted and in a trusting environment. I love imaginative play, keeping schedules, and helping with homework. Siblings are great, too! Looking forward to meeting you and your kiddos! I absolutely love working with children! When I lived in Texas, I founded a children's theatre camp in Texas for ages 5-18. I developed curriculum, managed scheduling and instructed every class. I have worked as a nanny for over a decade before having children of my own and now take part-time work. Some of my favorite jobs included two brothers, ages 4 and 11 who enjoyed playing adventure make-believe and basketball, respectively, who I nannied for 3 times a week for about a year before graduating. I also loved my time as a nanny for three brothers, ages 6, 9, and 12 who had packed schedules to keep after school: practicing piano, doing homework and playing soccer outdoors, who I watched for over a year. I will also never forget the family who lived in my building here in new york, whose daughters - ages 4 and newborn I watched at least once a week, sometimes more, sometimes just coming over to play and visit; ballet, painting, storytelling, and going on adventures full of imagination and play were all part of the itinerary - all while keeping to the required schedule for feeding and bedtime, of course. :) Most importantly, I have 3 siblings, including two younger brothers, both of whom I adore. I am older than the youngest by 7 years, so by the time I was 13 I not only began babysitting professionally but also proved both my responsibility and joy to play on a constant basis as I watched over my brothers. I have an 11 year old niece who is the apple of my eye. I was 16 when she was born, and my sister worked full time, so my primary job in high school was to come over after school and take over for my mom and watch my niece for the day, starting when she was a newborn to around 2.5 yrs old at 2-3 times a week for long afternoons until my sister came home. I absolutely loved it!

Rachel seemed very sweet, caring, and professional. My daughter warmed to her right away! I'd definitely hire her again.

Hi- My name is Leslie and I’m currently a part time childcare provider and student at Hunter College. I have been caring for children since I was 12 years old and absolutely love it, I am easy going and energetic. Those early interactions with kids is what led me to my career path of studying Early Childhood Education and becoming a teacher. In past and present years my responsibilities have been everything from playing with kids, making meals/snacks, diaper changing, taking to various activities, reading to them, helping with homework, light tidying up, school pick ups and a host of other duties. I have worked with all ages ranging from newborns to pre teens and can also offer numerous references on site if that is something that would make any family feel more at ease. My experience with the elderly/seniors is associated with the care of both my grandparents. I have assisted with giving medications, helping in daily hygiene care, cleaning and making beds, cooking/food prep, taking to appointments and just generally being a friendly ear and companion to help brave the long hours in the day. I look forward to being of great help to any families that need it.

Leslie is absolutely wonderful. She has watched our infant son since he was 4 mos old! With my son, Leslie is engaging, kind, energetic and was wonderful at soothing him for nap time. With us, Leslie is dependable, considerate, and an overall joy to be around. Leslie has not only bonded with Lucas but also our small doodle. If you are looking for someone to help out with your infant, Leslie is definitely the one! However, it’s clear she excels at bonding and engaging with children of all ages with her personality and vast educational experience! Thank you so much Leslie!! See you soon :) :)
