Hi! I currently work full-time in higher education as a college counselor, but have extensive experience in childcare as a full-time nanny & part-time sitter as well as teacher for younger students. I used to direct an After School Program (at SPCC) for school-aged children, K-5, and taught English (ESL) to high school students. I personally love working with kids as it's a great way to get to know my community and have fun with cool & interesting wee ones! I have references and my rates are negotiable. During the summer, I have a flexible schedule with may allow additional hours. Most evenings & almost all weekends are wide open. Please reach out with any questions!
“Alex was so thorough and absolutely incredible with my daughter Charlotte. Couldn’t recommend her more. ”
Hello! I'm Kirstie, and I bring over 10 years of comprehensive babysitting experience. During grad school, I was a night nanny for premature twins, which honed my skills in providing specialized care. I have also had the pleasure of traveling with families, ensuring smooth and enjoyable trips for both parents and children. Additionally, I have confidently managed solo childcare for up to four days at a time, showcasing my reliability and trustworthiness. My four years working at an overnight summer camp have equipped me with a diverse set of skills to engage children in fun, educational, and safe activities. I am comfortable driving children and adept at handling various responsibilities, whether it's part-time, full-time, or occasional babysitting. My goal is to create a nurturing and positive environment for your children, making their well-being my top priority. I look forward to the opportunity to support your family and meet your childcare needs!
Hi, my name is Isabel! I have three years of experience as a museum educator at the Hudson River Maritime Museum, where I taught elementary and middle school field trip students about natural and industrial history. I looked after the children of three families during my high school and college years, and worked as a swim instructor for kids aged 3 to 10 for three summers. I am skilled in guitar and piano and am able to teach both instruments. I love working with kids and the energy that they bring, and currently have open availability.
“Isabel was great with our daughter!”
I'm Marina, and I'm based in Brooklyn. I currently work part-time as the Development and Partnerships Director for a nonprofit providing education and mental health support to women and girls in Afghanistan, and I have about 20-25 hours a week available for a family in need of extra help. I have 19+ years of experience working with children, from newborns through high school, across nannying, daycare, summer camp, tutoring, and classroom teaching. I've cared for children in one-on-one and group settings, for families in Brooklyn, Los Angeles, and internationally, including families with high-profile backgrounds. Depending on what your family needs, my time could look like after-school pickup and care, homework support, household logistics, scheduling, organizing, errand running, cooking dinner, pet care, or simply being a consistent and trustworthy presence in your children's lives. For tutoring, I specialize in English, writing, and critical thought for all ages, and cover math, science, and social studies through elementary school. I've taught students from preschool through 12th grade and tutored refugee youth in Brooklyn, often without shared language. My teaching style is rooted in observation and adaptability. I learn how each child thinks, what makes them feel safe, and where they need room to grow. My professional background is in educational and curriculum development. I performed on Broadway through my teens, then shifted into nonprofit work and volunteer teaching. I lived and taught at a school in India for close to two years, worked at a summer camp for refugee youth, and have held roles spanning operations, client experience, and learning and development. All of it has made me someone who pays close attention and builds trust with the people I work with. I emphasize technology-free, creative, and confidence-building play. I think carefully about who each child is and what they specifically need, and I bring that same intentionality to everything from an afternoon activity to a homework session. Of course, I still love a fun movie night! :) I've held certifications in Infant and Pediatric First Aid and CPR and am happy to be re-certified. I have a perfect driving record, I'm conversational in Spanish, and I'm an animal lover through and through. References available upon request. I work best with families that lead with compassion, open-mindedness, and joy. If that sounds like your household, I'd love to connect!
“Our baby liked her immediately. She listened to us and followed instructions well. She did a great job, will hire again.”
Hi, I'm Victoria! I have 8+ years of babysitting and nannying experience in NYC and have recently re-entered the babysitting world after getting my MBA! I work full time in finance but have been missing getting to work with kids. Originally from Upstate NY, I moved to NYC to pursue a BFA in dance and have since transitioned to the business and finance realm. Some background on my experience: I have been babysitting for the past 10 years and I love to work with kids. I have worked with children from ages 2 months to 12 years old. I have also taught creative movement classes and dance to kids of all ages, so I am very accustomed to high energy and can match that of your child. I have also tutored children and worked in classroom settings. I am a very active and enthusiastic person, which I love to share with the kids I work with. I love to babysit because growing up, my babysitters had a positive influence on me and became very important to me, so I want to give others that experience and be a fun, inspiring babysitter and positive role model. I do not treat this job as daily work, I treat each family as my own and make sure the family and children receive the best care possible! Additionally, I have done volunteer work with reading to preschoolers, helping elementary school students after school with tutoring, and volunteering at daycare services for kids. A fun fact about me is that I love art, reading, and pets! I hope to get to know you and your family in the future!
