Hi, my name is Mashiyat and I have been working with kids since I was 16 and have always enjoyed it. I worked my summers in high school at a science and engineering camp where I was a counselor for ages 5-7. I became early education and care certified in college when I was a teaching assistant for the on campus daycare primarily as an infant/toddler daycare teacher. In addition to providing direct care for the babies in my classroom, I also have experience working with infants as a medical assistant for a pediatrician’s office and worked directly with families at a children’s hospital to enroll them into clinical trials. Although I have mostly worked with infants and toddlers, I also have experience with kids of all age groups from summer camp or other previous babysitting positions.

Lauren graduated from Chapman University with degrees in Psychology and Integrated Educational Studies and from Teachers College, Columbia University with a Masters in Developmental Disabilities. She holds certifications in ABA, DIR Floortime, and is currently certified in CPR/first aid. Since 2017, Lauren has worked in childcare in various roles, including counselor, ABA therapist, camp division leader, and inclusion coordinator. Throughout all of this, she has babysat for children ages 2 and up since she was 14. She recently worked at a Jewish community center in Washington Heights for two years as an Inclusion Coordinator, overseeing disability inclusion in their afterschool program, summer camp, and directing a weekly social skills and play program for autistic and neurodivergent children. Lauren is extensively trained to support kids with diverse support needs and of all abilities. She is now the Director of Adaptive Programming for a sports and fitness nonprofit!
I grew up in New York City with a younger brother in an arts driven, multicultural family. My passions are language, grounding in nature, traveling, epicurean adventures, cooking, wellness and the arts. Along with my work in childcare, I am a published fine artist working in photography. I believe kids can teach us a lot with their curiosity, wisdom and free spirits. I always learn something new about myself in the company of children and I’ve worked with all ages from newborns to teenagers. I find them totally inspiring for my own creative work. I am also a big believer in families and have been offering them support through nurture, protection and care for nearly two decades. I’m currently expanding my knowledge and ability to support families through Doula studies. I seek connection with compassionate and kind families who value the contribution of caregivers~ those who know the work of care is a beautiful act of service that upholds the wellbeing of our collective. *Please be honest in your post or when we speak whether you have a sick child. A sick child rate is available, discussed and agreed upon at hire.
“Nora helped me out when I needed it most. She was very reliable and I felt like my kids were in good hands. I plan to ask her for her services in the future. My kids really enjoyed spending time with Nora.”
Hi! I am 21 years old and attend Oberlin College in Ohio where I'm studying psychology. I grew up in Brooklyn Heights and have lived here my whole life, so I am comfortable with public transportation, going to park, and other fun attractions for kids. When home on breaks, I live with my two parents, older brother, younger sister and dog. I have experience sitting for kids ages 1-9; this includes playing with them and getting them dinner together, bathing them and putting them in pjs, and reading books to put them to sleep. Sometimes I would bring my dog because one girl loved to play with him. I am allergic to dogs and cats, but I am able to work with families who have dogs that do not shed. In my free time I love to bake, paint, sew, play frisbee, and take my dog to the park. While my certification has lapsed, I have taken courses in CPR and first aid.
Hi! My name is Lois. I am nanny/babysitter with 10+ years of experience. I have worked with a wide range of families and age ranges from infants to pre-teens. This has equipped me with a quick mind and adaptability for any situation. I love to combine my love of theater and knowledge to create engaging activities for kids that allow them to not only learn but expand their sense of self expression . I have some prior experience working with kids with on the spectrum, and I am CPR and First Aid Certified. Excited to meet you!
“Our family was so lucky to find Lois! During a 6 month project Lois came in and provided my two children (6 and 9) with after school care. Lois is prompt, kind and efficient. She was flexible with my evolving schedule and able to accommodate us during the random days off during the school year. Lois is incredibly fun, energetic and full of fantastic imaginative ideas. Always ready to run in the sunshine with both kids at the park, she was equally adept at making a rainy day fun. She played with both my creative story loving younger child, and could effortlessly flip over to a fun competitive game of pokemon or chess with my older child. There was always music and laughter. They never wanted her to leave.”
