Hello! I am a former 6-12th grade teacher going back to school for nursing. I am looking for occasional or part time work on the days that I don’t have classes. My formal experience with children includes teaching middle school and high school, as well as summer camp with preschool to middle school aged children, and as an educational assistant for a special needs program. Although it has been awhile since I officially offered childcare, I grew up taking care of four younger siblings as well as foster children. I did often babysit for families with multiple children of different ages throughout high school and am looking to start again. I am comfortable with children of all ages, and am happy to help with light household chores and pets if needed. As a former teacher, I have a lot of experience with lesson planning and engaging kids in science (and other subjects too) regardless of their age and I would be happy to implement this in any childcare position. I am a mother of 3. my daughter is 18 and my son is 6 and my other daughter is 2. my parents did foster care when I was younger, so I was exposed to all sorts of people and kids. I babysat for years, worked at a daycare and helped with many kids programs in my area and community. I love to be silly and creative.

I am a Portland native and I worked as a teacher for 4 years. I graduated with my BA from Lewis & Clark College and earned my MAT at the University of Portland. I am currently a volunteer on the board of a nonprofit and am starting up a small online business with an old friend. I enjoy soccer, hiking, singing with my gospel choir, teaching Girl Scouts how to sew, and I’m currently renovating a vintage Airstream. I started baby-sitting as a ten-year-old, and have since worked with children of all ages. Most of my experience is with elementary school age kids, but I love babies and toddlers as well.
