Hi there! I'm Sophia, and I'm a junior at PSU (age 23) studying environmental studies and child & family studies. I'm a lifelong Portlander, and am hoping to enter the outdoor education field after college. I've been babysitting for 10 years now, caring for children ages 3 months to 12 years. I also have experience as a daycare teacher (8 months at My Bundle of Joy in NE Portland), nanny, tutor, and camp counselor. I'm energetic, creative and attentive, and I really do love kids. I would love to do art, read, dance/sing, cook, go on walks, visit the library, or go on outdoor adventures with your kiddo(s)! I'm certified in Pediatric First Aid & CPR, and enrolled in Oregon's Central Background Registry. I do have a driver's license, but I do not have a car. I'm happy to do pick-ups/drop-offs and any other outings with your own car, on foot, via public transportation, or even on bike! *** 1/11/26 I’m back on Urban Sitter after a few years, so that’s why my reviews are not recent, but I’ve continued to do plenty of consistent childcare in the meantime. I am a mother of 3. my daughter is 18 and my son is 6 and my other daughter is 2. my parents did foster care when I was younger, so I was exposed to all sorts of people and kids. I babysat for years, worked at a daycare and helped with many kids programs in my area and community. I love to be silly and creative.

I am currently a volunteer on the board of a nonprofit and am starting up a small online business with an old friend. I enjoy soccer, hiking, singing with my gospel choir, teaching Girl Scouts how to sew, and I’m currently renovating a vintage Airstream. I started baby-sitting as a ten-year-old, and have since worked with children of all ages. Most of my experience is with elementary school age kids, but I love babies and toddlers as well.
