I have worked with the tutoring agency Kumon when I was a student at PSU and tutored kids from ages 2-10. I am also very comfortable with animals and have grown up with pets since I was a little girl and love to spend time in the sun outside!

Hello! I am a teacher for Portland Public Schools and have taught kindergarten and 1st grade. I am not available on a weekday after Sept 2nd. During the school year I am available primarily on weekends, but may be able to accommodate a weekday evening. I am happy to babysit for any age and have experience taking care of babies. I am also available for tutoring. I have a masters degree in Education from PSU and am endorsed to be a reading specialist. I specialize in early literacy, but am able to tutor in English Language Arts for all grades. I have taught all subjects at the elementary level and have experience (and references) for tutoring at the high school level.

Hello, there! I’m Mia! My experience with children started young, being the oldest of a large family! I also have worked as a nanny for a variety of families in the past and always enjoyed my time! I take a more “screen-free” approach to my time with your children (arts and crafts, anyone?). I am a creative person myself so I enjoy drawing and painting, building blocks and reading! Also open to whatever works with your unique family’s needs. I have experience pet sitting and dog walking and am comfortable with dogs, cats, lizards and other kinds of small animals!

I am *currently* a part-time substitute teacher in the greater Portland area. I've fulfilled a number of roles over the years, including full-time nanny, part-time sitter, a date night sitter, and personal assistant to the family. I have experience with full-time infant-care (transitioning to solid foods, preparing formula, etc), as well as balancing the routines of multiple children at once. I have been the "first babysitter" for kids with a range of ages, including baby, toddler, and early elementary. Skills/schoolwork: In addition to teaching, I have a background in elementary (basic math, spelling) and high school-level tutoring (grammar and algebra), both through private employment & volunteer work. I'm also familiar with how to adapt lesson plans to suit different needs (specifically dyslexia and ADHD). Activities: I love non-media based activities such as board games, arts and crafts, drawing, reading, and sports, but I never shy away from a good movie night!
