Combined, I have now over 15 years of experience working with families. In fact, there has not really been a time where I have ever stopped working with families! I have professionally managed events, conferences, and weddings for a good chunk of my career before transitioning to academic research and law. Outside of this platform, I work privately in law, with content management, and coach public speaking. I took a break from UrbanSitter for several years for grad schools. Hi! My name is Alyx and I am a passionate educator and adventure enthusiast originally from Phoenix, Arizona. Currently I’m seeking occasional roles (evenings/weekends) as my schedule allows. My experience: I have over a decade of childcare experience, ranging from occasional babysitting to long-term nannying, newborns to twelve year olds— and I am also a former teacher! I have worked to develop meaningful relationships with the families I care for, and I looove getting to know kids. I have experience babysitting children ranging from 18 months up to 13 years, including kids with ADHD and ASD. I'm a pretty calm and easygoing guy, and always make an effort to connect with the kids I care for. I’m a pretty active person and like to get the kids outside when I can. Lava monster is a favorite when we go to the playground. While I personally default to physical activities, I'm prepared to take what the day gives me and have enjoyed many evenings learning about new board games or chatting about Minecraft or Roblox. I am comfortable with pets as well. I often appreciate their company in the evenings, especially if they like to be pet. P.S. I completed my bachelor's in March ’22, and am currently searching for work in the communications field.
