My name is Barbi and I’m from Montana but I’m now living in the Phoenix area to be near and help my ailing father. I have homeschooled and raised 5 children. I love spending time with my grandchildren but they are 1500 miles away so I thought that helping out Arizona families would be good for my heart and a way to encourage and support parents as they do the most important job in the world raising their beloved kiddos! I am comfortable with all animals including farm animals and also willing to help out with household tasks or anything that would lessen the load for busy parents. My primary focus will always be the children. I love hands on learning so if it’s ok with parents I will include children in age appropriate tasks like cooking, animal care, household tasks as well as spend time reading, coloring, creative play, crafts, games, outside play, walks and anything that will expand the children’s imagination, encourage growth and fill their hearts with a love for life!

I’ve been teaching in grades 1-6 for the past 17 years. I have daily experience working with 25+ children. I am dependable and hardworking. I currently have two pitbull dogs but grew up mucking stalls for our horses, taking care of various types of birds, reptiles and fish. My mom is a senior who is on oxygen so I am familiar with the frequent doctor visits and needs of seniors. I am a full time teacher so I am currently looking to work during the summer months and extended holidays.

I have extensive experience caring for children from 2½ months to 17 years old through professional nannying, babysitting, tutoring, and working in both home and school environments. I earned my degree in Elementary Education with minors in Special Education and English as a Second Language (ESL), which has given me a strong understanding of child development and how to support children with a wide range of learning styles and abilities. Throughout my career, I’ve worked with children with and without disabilities, providing individualized care, academic support, and creating fun, structured environments where they can thrive. My experience includes classroom support, tutoring, homework help, planning engaging activities, preparing meals, maintaining routines, transporting children, and supervising outings and field trips. In addition to childcare, I have experience teaching swim lessons and coaching water polo, helping children build confidence, develop new skills, and stay active. I love spending time outdoors and enjoy taking kids on adventures like hikes, trips to the park, nature walks, and other activities that encourage curiosity, learning, and exploration. Hello! I’m a compassionate, reliable, and hardworking caregiver with experience supporting children and families. As the oldest of four siblings, I’ve always enjoyed helping children learn, grow, and feel supported. I began working with children in 2013 as a CNA at a children’s hospital, where I learned the importance of patience, safety, and compassionate care. I’m currently pursuing my Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and will graduate within the next year while attending school online.
