Hello! My name is Sophie, and I’m a career nanny living in Oakland. I’m a former preschool teacher, and hold a B.A. in Child Development from Mills College. I have been a nanny/babysitter on and off for the past 20 years. Most of my nanny work has consisted of caring for newborns- 3 yr-olds. I really enjoy working with parents as a team, to support them in their post-partum journey. My goal is to make sure every child is safe, happy, and feels engaged with. I grew up in a large, formerly Amish family and have been around and watching kids my whole life. I’m a recent political economy graduate from UC Berkeley, currently doing oral history and linguistic work when I'm not caring for children.

I worked at a day care before I started flying 7 years ago and while flying I have worked for many families occasionally babysitting. I did take a little over a year off flying where I left my last airline in Arizona (where I’m born and raised) to move to the Bay Area where my Dad and other family are at.
