Hi there! My name is Monica. I have about 7 years paid experience in babysitting and been babysitting family members on and off since high school. I am also certified in First Aid/ CPR/ AED. I love kids. I enjoy watching, playing as well as teaching them. I love to nurture their interests and development whichever way they chose. I have been working with children in various capacities for over 10 years. For 2 years, I worked as an actor on a traveling theatre group that performs shows on bullying prevention and other social issues at schools throughout the greater Seattle area, and then spent 2 years as the Education and Outreach Program Coordinator for that same theatre company. I now work as an Education Programs Specialist at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles, where I develop museum programming for students and teachers. In terms of childcare, I have worked with dozens of families, ages ranging from 11 weeks to 13 years old, and I am comfortable and experienced working with all ages and up to three children at a time (or more if necessary). I have learned so much from little ones over the past years and being able to play a role in their growth and development is a great joy. Hello! I am Los Angeles based, working part time in advertising and looking for a regular part time or occasional childcare position, ideally 10-15 hours a week. I am one of six kids and began working with children at the age of 13. I'm now in my thirties, with many years of nannying behind me. I have taken care of children of all ages and stages of childhood. I have been certified in CPR in the past, and would be willing to update that certification if needed. I am fun, present, and engaging with children. I believe in the importance of enjoying nature, and will often take children on hikes or other outdoor excursions. As a former ballet dancer, I have taught children's dance classes and encourage creative expression in whichever form it might appear. In prior nanny positions I've offered tutoring/homework help with elementary and high school courses. I'm happy to cook, have no problem dropping off/picking up at school, and do have my own vehicle if any transportation is needed. I am also willing to do light house cleaning. I am Howard University alumnae. I love having an active lifestyle. I’ve been babysitting for the past fourteen years. I teach children from 2-18 years old how to play golf. I love to complete puzzles, play outside, and play with toys. When it comes to deciding one over the other, I would much rather read to your children than have them stare at a television screen. I believe children learn better when they are less reliant on technology for entertainment.

I have previously worked with infants and toddlers (0-3) as an early interventionist/child development specialist. So I have lots of experience with children of all ages & developmental levels (: I’ve also worked with summer programs, volunteered in children’s hospitals & have babysat professionally for 10+ years. I have done everything from long term, date nights, classroom pods, play dates, school or practice pickups, overnights & weekends.
