I am CPR and First Aid certified and have 17 years of experience as a paraeducator in special education. In addition, I have 18 years of experience as a respite provider working with ambulatory clients on the autism spectrum. For the past 3.5 years, I have also served as co-owner and teacher at an infant daycare. The last two years I’ve helped with my daughter’s different foster babies (ages 3 days- 2 years) after work and on the weekends (Currently there are no fosters.) My experience is further informed by being a parent to a child on the autism spectrum, which has deepened my understanding, empathy, and commitment to quality care. Hi! I have always loved working and engaging with children of all ages. I've been babysitting on and off for kids age 6mo - 12 y/o over the years, including my nephew and friends' children when they need extra backup or simply because I love the 1:1 time with them. I've done sleepover sitting and bedtime routines, school drop off/pick ups, homework help, lots of fun field trip adventures with older kids, creative projects or games at home, etc. I'm comfortable and confident with any aged child. In 2021 I took a professional sabbatical during which time I worked as a substitute teacher with Mission Montessori (for the pure enjoyment of it), working with children 6 months - 3 years old. I have also volunteered as a reading and homework tutor of elementary school-aged children in the past.
