Hello! My name is Ashley :) I am fully vaccinated - meaning I have received my COVID-19 vaccinations, boosters, and flu shot. I have a BA in Psychology and a minor in Counseling from San Francisco State University. I have a Masters in Social Welfare from University of California, Berkeley and am currently working towards my therapy license. I am certified in adult/child/infant first-aid, CPR, and AED use. I have the most experience with newborn-elementary age children. My previous work has included teaching social skills, coping/calming strategies, problem solving skills, and providing homework/behavioral assistance and enriching activities. **I can cook, love to clean/organize, and I am very responsible and respectful.
In short: I sincerely love working with kids professionally and am excited to work with families while in grad school. I have four years experience working in youth mental health, in school programs, clinical settings, and after-school services. I work with kids because I truly love it- the joy, curiosity, and growth of spending time with children and adolescents is like no other. I am pursuing a Master's degree in Marriage & Family Therapy at Saint Mary's- towards a goal of licensed, trauma-informed therapy with youth and their families. I am a substitute elementary teacher with West St Paul/Mendota Public Schools. I'm licensed to teach K-6th grade, but often work with younger children also. I have worked as a teacher for over ten years. Kindergarten is my favorite, but I think there is something great about kids of every age. I would be very open helping school-aged children with their homework or doing supplemental educational work with the kids. I can also hang out and have fun -- either inside or out. Whatever works best for you! I love cats and wouldn't mind a house with them. I am okay with dogs as well, to a lesser extent. I have my own transportation and am willing to drive the kiddos to appointments, sports, playdates, etc. I don't mind light housekeeping/cooking, especially for the kids. I graduated from Northwestern in 2020 with degrees in Theatre, Marketing, and Film. Upon moving to LA, I became a full time nanny responsible for Zoom preschool and kindergarten.
