I have over 10 years experience working with children. I am currently a Teacher’s Aide in a 2nd grade classroom, and this is my second year doing so. I have 7 years of summer camp experience and 2 years on leadership of summer camps. I have tutored, housesat and pet sat in between the aforementioned experience. I nannied March 2020-August 2020 everyday for a family and continued a working relationship with them through the summers following 2020. I am compassionate, caring, loyal, trustworthy and resilient. I have worked with kids 6 months old to kids who are 14. In college I served as a new student peer mentor for 2 school years which meant checking in with students their first and second years of college and they always knew they could come to me if they needed anything. I also served for 3 school years as a peer support facilitator, holding space for those to come and talk and offering advice as well as getting advice and connection for my own life.

I’m a responsible and caring person with camp counselor experience! I think children deserve to be heard, and their needs met. I am a relaxed stabilizing presence for my campers, and am good at turning any situation into a positive experience. Positive forms of learning and personal connection matter a lot to me. Additionally I have experience with Nero divergent (OCD and On the spectrum) children. I am watchful and entertaining for the young ones! I am mostly used to managing larger groups of campers, but my best moments have always been with smaller groups or individual campers, listening to feelings and resolving problems! I've done care for younger children ages less than 1 - 3 for relatives outside of my camp experience. Hello! My name is Sarah :) I am a twenty two year old recent college graduate born and raised in Portland, Oregon. I first started babysitting when I was thirteen years old - the same year that I got my Red Cross babysitting certification. I have babysat, driven, and supervised kids between the ages of one and fourteen on and off since then. I just graduated from University in England where I spent the last few years living and studying and earning my Bachelors degree! I recently moved to LA and then back to Portland after graduating and am looking for a way to make some money and meet people in the mean time! I love traveling, reading, playing piano, and movies. I absolutely love children! I grew up helping care for younger siblings and went on to study human development in college. I graduated with an emphasis in family studies and learned a lot about child development. I worked as a preschool teacher in Southern Utah before spending two years abroad as an English teacher to children ages 2-12. I have volunteered with children in a Chinese orphanage and worked with children in a number of different capacities. I recently went back to school and I am a full time student right now. I love arts and crafts, dancing, animals, and anything outdoors. I adore spending my days with little ones and helping them explore the world.

Every day is new and it’s exciting with a child. I love seeing the world through child’s eyes. Each day will play outside . everyday will do reading anf crafts.
