My name is Emma, and I am originally from Marin County, California. I graduated from Portland State University in June 2021 with a degree in Graphic Design and a minor in Advertising Management. I am now returning to school at Pacific University, where I am pursuing my Doctorate in Occupational Therapy. I am looking for occasional weekday and weekend babysitting jobs. I come from a big family and have always been around children of all ages. I began babysitting at age 12, working with children ranging from 2 months old through the teenage years. Babysitting was my main source of employment throughout my high school and college years. Between high school and today, I have also been a nanny for ten families. In addition, I volunteered at a well known preschool in the Marin Community, in the infant room as well as other classes through the preschool program. I am happy to send letters of recommendation and look forward to working with you and entertaining your kiddos! Let me know how I can best help you and your family.

Unavailable from 7/14-8/29 Hello! After graduating with my Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and a minor in psychology, I was offered the opportunity to substitute teach for the school district. For six years I was lucky enough to be a substitute teacher for ages K-12. My passion for child development and psychology makes me eager to provide children with an environment conducive to being a healthy and happy child, while catering to each child's uniqueness and supporting their greatest endeavors. Because of my wide range of substituting, I have experience with behavioral differences, children of all levels of skillset, mindset, backgrounds, and ages. Much of my time was spent at the Montessori school working with gifted students and the other bit of my time was at the behavioral academy for children who benefitted from a bit more TLC, in between these extremes I was regularly subbing in traditional classrooms. Due to the pandemic, and the closure of schools, I began working in research and development at a lab in Washington and I have since dabbled in healthcare as a CNA, doing so was rewarding and helped solidify my passion for caring for others and taught me a great deal about caring for seniors as well. My current career goals are centered to be in healthcare within the next year. In my free time you can find me in the sunshine, chasing my crazy beagle, paddle boarding, and experimenting in the kitchen.

$25 per hour for 1 child
Booked by 22 families in Portland, OR

As an educated and experienced early childhood professional, I know how to make the most of teachable moments in everyday experiences. I spent my first career working with children and families in various educational settings, with children from birth through the teenage years, and understand the critical development happening during these different stages. Now I work as a family therapist, and I love to provide babysitting services as a way of staying connected to my roots! I enjoy getting to know each child as an individual, and creating the best environment for them. I have worked with children, teens, and young adults with varying needs, including children with autism, Down syndrome, epilepsy, asthma, and moderate to severe behavioral diagnoses. I am comfortable with and trained to administer medications, including epi-pens. I have experience with cloth diapering, baby led weaning, and various parenting styles- it’s important for me to connect with the way you prefer your child to be interacted with.

“Liza is incredible. Our kid, who is a little shy, took to her immediately. She has an amazing energy about her, and clearly loves children. Highly recommend!”

Hi families, my name is Valentina and I'm 23 years old and I'm from the beautiful country Colombia. I'm studying Foreign Trade because I like to practice English, I'm trying to improve it and I would like to spend time with kids because I think that they're the best teachers! In my free time I love to spend time with my friends and family, also, I love to have time for me and myself just watching TV shows, movies or just resting. I have experience taking care kids because I passed a lot of time with my little sister, my cousins and little neighbors, I took care of them a lot of times and also I did a volunteer in a daycare, I spent a lot of time with babies, I love their innocence and the way that you can win their hearts.

“She played with my kids the whole time and didn’t need any help. We were able to catch up on chores and have enough quiet to work on planning and even go out to lunch together. I highly recommend her and will try to hire her again.”
