Hello neighbors! My friends call me "Eri", and I am an artist and a forever student with an interest in caring for both people and animals. I have a large, loving family and am a proud parent of grown children who add love and light to the world - and I also enjoy the company of two wonderful and humorous cats at home - Lumi and Kida. Being a caregiver has been a lifelong part of my being, and it makes me happy to help and bring joy to someone in need of it. I choose to build healthy relationships with other people, based on trust, kindness, and respect, and to meet and bond with the little creatures that make our planet even more amazing! My experience consists of 30 years of non-medical caregiving - for people in various states of health and mobility, and for pets of different species and ages, primarily canine and feline. My duties have ranged from companionship, errands, outdoor activities (walks), and transportation and escorting to appointments - to bathing, dressing, grooming and shopping. I am experienced with reading temperatures and blood pressure results (via electronic devices), dosing oral medications at the proper times, planning and preparing meals, planning and providing appropriate outdoor excursions based on interests and mobility, and reading aloud. In my personal time, my interests include being a "maker" of creative things, designing, crafting, decorating and all the nails, glue, paints and tools that entails! I appreciate nature and photography, enjoy cooking nourishing and diverse meals, and I cherish the gifts of singing and good writing - just a few things that I believe bring comfort, joy, and warmth to any daily routine. As an avid student, I balance my studies with caregiving opportunities that allow me to use my skills to provide for the needs of others, doing work that resonates with my idea of humanity and tender care. I take pride in being attentive, protective of the fragile among us, kind to the kind-hearted and safety conscious. I am a 35 year old licensed clinical social worker who has 10+ years of experience working with families and children ages 0-18 years old. I live in Bolton VT with my fiancé and two dogs. I recently left my job to reset and step away from the stress of doing crisis work in the community. Another one of my passions is volunteering with a local dog rescue and often have a foster dog or puppy in the house. I am first aid and CPR certified. Prior to becoming a social worker my jobs included working in daycares and nannying. I have worked with children with mental health diagnoses, intellectual disabilities and neurodivergencies and behavioral challenges. I enjoy spending time outside, visiting places out in the community, art, baking and imaginary play!
