Hi, my name is Knar. I was born and raised in San Francisco and currently live in Oakland, with no issues commuting into the city. I have over 15 years of childcare experience and am deeply passionate about providing nurturing, dependable care that supports children’s growth, confidence, and development. My background includes three years working in a daycare setting and twelve years as a full-time nanny, giving me hands-on experience with children across a wide range of ages and stages. I value building close, trusting relationships with both children and parents and take pride in being a steady, supportive presence in a family’s life. My childcare philosophy centers on creating a safe, loving environment with clear structure, consistency, and care so children feel secure and encouraged as they grow. I am family-oriented, patient, respectful, and highly communicative, and I believe open and honest communication is the foundation of a strong partnership. In addition to childcare, I am happy to assist with light household tasks such as baby laundry and dishes, introducing solids, supporting developmental milestones, and tailoring care to each child’s unique needs. Availability update: I have a full-time position and am not currently available, but I appreciate you taking the time to view my profile.
Wellthy Partners: DO NOT message me about jobs unless I APPLY for them. I’m moving out of the Bay Area on 8/15/2026. I’m available for one time gigs but not regular gigs. Thank you! Hi Parents! I'm Laura, a highly educated and experienced sitter who is excited about the possibility of babysitting your children! In addition to 20+ years of babysitting experience, I am a former teacher. Although I've mostly taught middle school English and history, I've worked with K-12 students in and outside of the classroom as a site coordinator and workshop facilitator. More recently, I've worked in healthcare for six years as a receptionist and scribe. I enjoy cooking, doing art projects, playing games, playing outside in nice weather, and reading with kids. I let the kid(s) take the lead in activities, within reason, of course. ;) Both my teaching experience and multidisciplinary education allow me to effectively help with homework. I have a Bachelor's degree in English and a minor in psychology plus 38 post-baccalaureate science credits, I’m starting grad school in August for audiology (AuD). I hope to work as an educational audiologist after graduation! I have undergone CPR/first aid/AED, and Safe Environment training as required by the schools where I taught. I am most comfortable caring for kids 2 years of age and older. I love pets and pet sit so no need to worry about allergies. 🐈🐕 my pet sitting rates differ from my babysitting rates, so please don't hesitate to ask! I have a valid driver's license, a reliable vehicle, and a clean driving record. I can drive my own car or the parents’ cars if automatic I accept cash, check, credit/debit card via Urban Sitter, Venmo, Zelle, and PayPal. I am willing to stay later than the agreed upon time provided that 1) the parent/guardian communicates this need with me and 2) I do not have any prior commitments afterwards. If you are going to be home more than 15 minutes past the agreed upon arrival time, please let me know. On my end, I will call or text if I am running late to a job. I require full payment if you cancel the job with less than 24 hours notice, except for inclement weather, death of a loved one, or medical reasons. If I have to cancel for illness or another unavoidable reason with less than 24 hours notice, a 25% discount will be applied to the next booking. Please don’t hesitate to message me with questions. Thank you for considering me and I hope we can work together soon! Best, Laura
Hello! My name is Rebecca, but just Becky's fine :) I earned my Bachelors Degree in Theatre Arts (performance emphasis) from San Francisco State University with honors in 2015 and my master’s degree in clinical psychology from Pepperdine University just this year! I am about to start full time work as an associate marriage and family therapist. I had heard so many great things about Urban Sitter from friends, so I decided to join in on the fun in 2015! I worked for Urban Sitter from 2015 to 2023, everything from occasional to full time. Unfortunately I had to take a medical leave last year—but now I’m healthy, out of school and can’t wait to work with your kids again. It might not be my full time job anymore, but kids are the best reprieve from the stressors of my day job. I have experience with a wide age range, from kids as young as two weeks to as old as eleven years. I've worked with over 100 families by now, so I'm pretty well prepared for what's thrown my way! I'd say the age range I tend to work best with is infant to toddler--but that's not to say I don't enjoy working with kids older. Got a seven year old obsessed with Pokemon? Me too. I'm all for it. Can't wait to meet and hang out with your wonderful kids! Note: Due to ever increasing gas prices and bridge toll, please note that I will usually not travel to SF or across another bridge for a job less than $100 overall. This of course does not include any jobs I may apply to on the job board. There may be outliers to this rule (for example: if I’m already in SF that day), so it never hurts to message me and ask!
“Kids loved Rebecca immediately and she was prompt, professional and super easy to coordinate with! ”
Hello — my name is Melissa! I am offering child care, pet care, and household services. I am a former elementary school teacher with interests in education/tutoring, reading, and spending time outdoors. My subject matter expertise while teaching was math and science for elementary students, but I have worked with children as young as toddlers up through high school age. I started babysitting and tutoring when I was in middle school and have worked with children throughout college and my career. I am also offering household services such as laundry, house sitting, and pet care.
“Melissa was great - attentive, fun, and positive. Our kids loved having her stay with them!”
Hi, my name is Theresa! I’m an artist, violinist, psychology undergrad, and aspiring marriage and family therapist. I’ve been: • Babysitting for four years with ALL ages, infants and older! • A reading mentor to develop reading skills in younger children • A behavioral therapist/counselor who works with neurodivergent youth • An assistant/helper doing chores and other tasks • A pet sitter for both dogs and cats CPR/BLS certified with American Heart Association. Clean driving record and owns a car. Fully vaccinated and will wear a mask if necessary! Can provide recommendations. I’m an easygoing, gentle, and kind person. I have a very calm demeanor. I’m extremely patient with kids and really do love them, despite the challenges that can come with babysitting. They’re so sweet, and never fail to make me laugh or smile. My favorite things to do with kids are: • Outings • Drawing • Reading • Games (i love roblox and minecraft) • Naps (who doesn’t like nap time?)
“Our 15 month old took to Theresa very quickly! She read with him and they played together while they got comfortable and then they did the whole bedtime routine. She was conscientious about safety, following our house guidelines and routine, and very sweet with him. We look forward to having her back. ”
