Hello My name is Cynthia I am a retired science teacher living in Pismo Beach. I am a mother of three grown children. Between my experience teaching elementary school and raising my own children, I have many years working with young ones. My elderly mother passed in 2012, she lived with me and I am intimately familiar with the companionship role of caretakers. My husband recently entered assisted living, he is a Parkinson’s patient and I was his caretaker until June. I am seeking a part-time employment beginning in 2024. I plan to travel Intermittently, so my schedule will not permit a static schedule.i have limited availability in the morning, as I like to spend time at the gym. I am open to over-nights on occasion.

Hi! I’m Becca! First and foremost I’m a mom and I love it! When I was a new mom & needed help, I felt overwhelmed trying to find the right fit of personality, values, & skills needed for a positive experience for all involved. Eventually, I left my corporate sales job in 2019 and put my passion for early childhood education and my degree in Communication Studies to use and began offering private nanny care and parent consulting services. I currently part time homeschool my 12 year old son and am available to care part time for your little one. Ideally, I’d love to support a family needing interim or part time care for their infant, toddler, pre-schooler. I hold my CPR/first aid certification & background checked/certified with Trust Line. I’m a former SpEd Para w/SLOCUSD. I’ve completed many professional and community courses (with CAPSLO for example) to better serve our community. I’m big on compassionate & supportive communication. Some of my favorite go to’s on child development come from professionals such as Magda Gerber, Robin Einzig, Janet Lansbury, Louise Bates Ames, & Dr. Ross Green. I am playful and silly, loving and kind, active and caring, and hold consistent and clear boundaries respectfully. I know quite a bit of American Sign Language (completed multiple levels through college courses over the years) however, I’m not fluent. I am comfortable using sign language with anyone who is already signing to communicate or teaching what I know to kids or families to help them communicate better. A typical day under my care involves morning greeting/connection routine, playtime and snack, reading and art, nap, lunchtime and adventure or park play, etc. (flexible but just an idea). I enjoy taking the little’s I’m caring for to library story times, different kid friendly adventures around town, and providing age appropriate experiences for their social, emotional, and physical development. I’m comfortable with bottle feeding, baby wearing, cloth diapering, snuggling to sleep, baby led weaning and adapting to any special care needs your family might need.
