Hi! My name is Francine! I'm an experienced, CPR-certified preschool teacher, nanny and babysitter with 20 years of childcare under my belt. I graduated from SDSU in Liberal Studies for Elementary School Teaching. I teach 2-3 year olds at a day school Monday-Friday and babysit on evenings and weekends. I am also a nationally registered EMT! Childcare has always been my passion. I started babysitting as a young teen 20 years ago, watching my little sister when she was a baby. While I attended college for teaching, I worked as a child development & special education assistant for the SD Unified School District. My focus was on helping children with autism and special needs. I have been on Urbansitter since they first launched in San Diego in 2012. This is where I discovered my love for working 1-on-1 with children. I’ve babysat for well over 150 San Diego repeat families through Urbansitter. I specialize in caring for infants and toddlers, but I have worked with children of all age ranges from newborns to middle schoolers. Besides my work in several classrooms, I've also worked as a summer camp counselor at Camp Jaycee and a circus coach for pre-schoolers at Fern Street Circus after-school program. I have done full-time nannying for five amazing families, watching their children grow from infants to intelligent pre-schoolers and kindergarteners. I enjoy being outdoors and doing fun activities like going to local parks or travelling to Balboa Park or the San Diego Zoo. I have a pass to several museums in Balboa Park, so I love to take my toddlers along for fun adventures. I love drawing, painting, and making things from clay. I am also quite the video game nerd and would love to pretend to lose to your kids 😆. I also LOVE pets, so there's no need to keep your animal pals locked up while I'm sitting. I live near Golden Hill, but I work in all parts of the San Diego area. Please note that I have a 3-hour minimum for areas that are north of the 56 freeway. My 20 years of experience working with children make me very comfortable working with any child. There is no situation that I am unable to take on in a cool, calm and collected manner.
