Hi! I’m a 4th Grade teacher in Denver Public Schools district on summer break. I’ve taught elementary grade levels (all subjects!) for 6 years. Throughout the years, I’ve taught 3rd grade, 2nd grade, and 4th grade. I am very familiar with the Literacy and Math standards progression from K-5 and the strategies/language students need to learn to reach their academic goals. In past summers, I have taught summer school, coordinated summer camps, and worked for the parks and rec department a coaching soccer and basketball. I believe that learning needs to be a great mix of hard work and fun! This summer, I decided to take the summer off and not commit to a full time position. I was recently thinking of a way to assist parents (single parents), as a mom whose had both married and single years. Then, I came across UrbanSitters. I have four children, who are now all adults. For sure, there were those who assisted me during the single years with my children, when they were little, and I would like to do the same for other parents in return. Sometimes parents need a little assistance with running errands, pick-ups, of just have a sitter sit some hours so parents can take a breather and free up more time for family time. I have an associates degree in medical administration and finishing up a bachelor degree in criminal justice. I have worked in the business, medical and judicial settings, pretty much since graduating high school. Children are precious gifts and are naturally funny at times, looking to explore their new world safely. I loved taking care of my own children, as well as relatives and friends children.
