Hello! I am a loving, playful, creative professional Ballerina, Early Childhood Educator, and Nanny. I have been a regular part time nanny for multiple families in NYC for the past 10 years. (I am actually still with a family that I met when I first joined Urbansitter- through the birth of their second child and a move!) I strive to provide a loving, peaceful environment, and to nurture all areas of development for these wonderful little humans. In addition to more than a decade of hands on experience, I have been trained in childhood development through movement with Dionne Kamara, and through sensory play with Jennie Monness at Union Square Play. I have since joined the staff there as a Lead Educator and a Co-Creator of the ‘Dance! Play! Ballet!’ curriculum. I base my approach to nannying on the Montessori, Reggio Emilia, and RIE philosophies that I have been exposed to and experienced in my work. I am Infant CPR/First Aid certified.
Hi there! My name is Aidan. I am 24 years old, I finished my Culture and Arts degree at Fordham last year, am pursuing working in the performing arts, work in the Theatre Industry, and am looking for some babysitting gigs to earn some extra money in this new chapter of life! I grew up between San Francisco and Brooklyn, so I am great with city kids as I am one! I have so much passion for working with kids (I have tons of classroom experience) and really think I could be a great fit for your family if you gave me a chance! - Why do I babysit? - 1. I love kids! I grew up in a big family as the oldest child on all sides so I have been helping take care of little ones for most of my life. 2. I have a passion for working with kids! I have in the classroom experience which has given me tons of childhood development skills and babysitting lets me use them! 3. I strive to be a positive male role model in all children’s lives. I grew up with girls and loved doing arts and crafts, make believe, dolls, etc… As a boy I love to rough house, run around, and play games. Anything a female babysitter can bring to the table, I can too! - My Background - I have been working with kids for 10 years as an After School Teacher, Nanny, Babysitter and Camp Counselor. I am certified in CPR/First Aid and have training in Child Abuse Prevention. Additionally, I have in-the-classroom experience which has enabled me to become very familiar with current educational standards and would be an excellent assistant to your child's homework needs. More importantly though, that knowledge helps me be more relatable to them as I understand what they’re currently experiencing at school! I have a background in performing arts, which you will find allows for pretty awesome story-times and games. We theatre kids have a ton of energy and I am no exception to this. I can keep up with all the energy your kids have and then some. I am a good listener and am flexible and willing to do just about anything a family needs of me. At the end of the day, the most important thing to me is to make sure your children are safe and happy, and that you as parents are satisfied with my care. I know it is uncommon to hire men in this field, but I promise you that you will not regret hiring me and I would be more than happy to provide as many references as you want! Let me know if you think I could be a good match for your family!
“Aiden is friendly, fun, and attentive, making the entire session enjoyable”
- I have a 4 hour minimum and I ask for a car home after 10pm for safety. Thanks! Hi! I am an actress/singer/photographer/web designer who adores kids! (and pets!) Originally from Kansas City, I have been living in NYC for 18 years. I graduated with a BFA in Musical Theatre from Webster Conservatory of Theatre Arts in St. Louis, MO. Not only do I love spending time with kids - I also love performing for them. I have toured the country performing in the Dr. Seuss musical SEUSSICAL and I have also performed with Disney Cruise Line playing Mary Poppins, Mrs. Potts, The Fairy Godmother and more! I began babysitting when my little brother was born (I was 11) and I have been babysitting ever since! I adore kids and their outlook on life. They bring me so much joy. I have worked with newborns, teens and every age in between. I audition a lot during week days so nights and weekends are best for me. (I do not mind working really late nights!) I look forward to meeting you and your family!
“Mallory was wonderful with our 9 month old son!! She was great at communicating and made my husband and I feel fully at ease being away from him for the night. We highly recommend her!!”
Hi there! Thank you for considering me. Here’s a bit about me: I am a former elementary school special education teacher in which I have 6 years of experience. Last year, I transitioned out my teaching role and now own a travel agency. Now that I'm no longer in the classroom I primarily support families with providing occasional care for after school, family nights out, last minute cancellations, as well as nannying abroad. UrbanSitter has given me the opportunity to continue supporting families and use my educator skills in a variety of settings. I am oldest sister of 3 and was the primary sitter for my brothers growing up. They inspired me to become a teacher and bring love and compassion into the classroom, and now anywhere I go. I have experience with infants, toddlers and elementary age children. I am able to change diapers, follow feeding directions and complete a variety of care routines as needed. I offer virtual homework help and tutoring services as well. Feel free to message me about this to discuss rate if interested.
“She was amazing—by far the most reliable sitter I’ve ever had! Despite the early morning shift, she arrived right on time and kept me updated as she was on her way. My child had a great time with her.”
Hi! I'm Kelly. I have 20+ years of childcare experience with specializations in infant care and autism care. I hold a BA in English from UNCG and an MA in literature from CCNY. My favorite thing to do with children of all ages is share my love for reading. I have 4 years of teaching experience including ADHD executive functioning coaching and teaching English at the undergraduate level. I work in non-profit communications.
“Kelly was so great with my 3 year old and 7 month old and was able to put both kids to bed on her first visit with us while we went out for date night. Our 7 month old was pretty fussy and she was able to manage everything like a pro! Would 100% book her again for babysitting. ”
