I am a native New Mexican currently living in the South Bronx. I have a bachelors degree in Anthropology from UNM. I’m a flight attendant for a major airline. I fly part time & currently have both doses of the Pfizer vaccine plus booster ! In lieu of recent events, my usual flying schedule has decreased which has given me the opportunity to stay grounded in the city. I have extended experience babysitting & handling stressful situations. I love animals, art, music and am happy to share my admiration for these hobbies with any child eager to expand their curious minds. I love to hear and learn about any infant care routines that make your baby feel safe and loved. Looking forward to helping out with occasional jobs.

Showed up on time and was great with the kids! Appreciated the regular updates and communication.

Hi! I'm Olivia. Thanks for visiting my profile. A little about me: I have 15 years of experience as both a full-time and part-time babysitter. I started babysitting in 2011, when I was a freshman at NYU. I'm now 33 and a freelance writer and editor. From 2011 to 2017 (before I left NYC temporarily for grad school), I babysat for 10-40 hours each week. My experience ranges from newborns to 14-year-olds, with every age in between. I especially enjoy sharing my love of books & reading. I love chatting with kids, answering their (hilarious/profound/thought-provoking) questions, and playing their favorite off-screen game. I was born in Manhattan, and I grew up in North and South Florida. Outside babysitting, I worked as a substitute teacher while attending grad school. From 2[removed], I was a full-time teacher at a private school in Florida, where I taught fourth grade reading, writing and science. I am skilled in social-emotional learning (SEL) and working with children with ASD (autism spectrum disorder), Levels I, I, and III; OCD; and ADHD. I am also skilled in helping kids cope with anxiety, anxious thinking, or anxiety-related behavior patterns. My hobbies include reading, spending time with my friends, and kayaking. I also have an M.F.A. in fiction writing, and I love talking to both kids and adults about books and writing! Some other helpful info: I am comfortable with pets and light housework/pet care. I am not comfortable babysitting children who are not feeling well/sick/contagious. Please let me know ahead of time if this becomes the case!

Great communication. Our near 3 year old warmed up to her quickly.

Resume Link:[removed] Hi, my name is Lindsey! I love working with children of all ages, especially infants and toddlers! I have an associate degree in early childhood education from Sauk Valley Community College and plan to pursue a bachelor's degree in the future. I have experience as a summer and after-school counselor, working with kids aged K-5th grade, and, most recently, as a full-time assistant daycare teacher in a 15-30 month classroom. I would also occasionally work in the daycare infant room when needed. One of the main reasons I love working with children is their innate love for exploration, creativity, and learning; just like myself! I believe that children need a strong, safe, and trustworthy support system to thrive, and I will provide all of those qualities. I love to sing, dance, read, write, craft, explore new places, and spend time in nature; all of which are traits that I directly apply when working with children. Furthermore, I am deeply passionate about teaching children age-appropriate emotional intelligence and regulation. While working in daycare, I taught my toddlers the names and feelings of different emotions, breathing exercises, how to find a trusted adult in times of emotional distress, how to say to a peer “Stop!” and “I do not like that!”, healthy ways to express anger, frustration, or other “upset” emotions without physically harming oneself or others, and where to find a safe and calm space to “calm their body.” For me, helping a child grow emotionally is incredibly rewarding, and I am ready and willing to nurture this growth with every child I work with. In addition to childcare, I am experienced in caring for dogs, cats, bearded dragons or similar reptiles, hedgehogs, beta fish, and parakeets (my family has had lots of pets over the years!). Additionally, having worked multiple customer service jobs and maintained the cleanliness of a toddler classroom, I am highly experienced in housekeeping services and running errands.

Trustworthy and reliable experience for us as we had no idea where to start or who to use to watch our 4 kids in the hotel room when we’re visiting the city! Thank you!! My kids were happy and were well cared for!

Hello there! I’m Lily, and I am experienced with children of all ages. I graduated with a MA in psychology from the New School for Social Research. Prior to being a childcare provider, I worked at a nonprofit that served high-risk adolescents. It made me very attuned to detail and comfortable in fast-paced, high stress environments—qualities that I believe will come in handy when caring for children. I babysat for years in NYC and SF through college and grad school. I have recently returned to UrbanSitter for occasional evening / nighttime work. CANCELLATION POLICY As compensation for lost time due to last minute cancellations, I expect 50% of the original booking amount for cancellations with less than 48 hours notice and the full amount for same day cancellations. Payable via Venmo or Zelle.

Very professional, would totally recommend!

I'm a master's graduate with more than 15 years of childcare experience (including my extensive time caring for my teenage brother and sister since they were infants!). Originally from Phoenix, I've also lived and babysat in Los Angeles, and would love to share my experience with your family here in New York! I'm also happy to assist with household chores, cooking, animal care, and other services along with babysitting.

Kathryn was excellent with our infant son and super communicative with us! Will absolutely hire again!
