I love working with children, seniors, infants and animals and have been involved in service and care work for over 50 years. Though I am a senior myself, I am full of energy and enthusiasm. My passion for teaching, children and 🎶 music lead me to get involved with the Music Together program. I also have training in infant & adult CPR and have teaching certifications in Music Together and Trauma- Informed Yoga & Mindfulness. I am a 500 hour Registered Yoga Therapist and have taught Family Yoga. Senior Yoga & PreNatal Yoga for the past 25 years @ the local Prospect Park YMCA up until COVID. My work experience has given me the opportunity of working @ Berkeley Carroll School as well as public schools in the NYC metropolitan area. The truth is I am such a “wannabe” grandma and love being around, babies, children and animals. I look forward to getting to know your unique children and family …. pets included ! Please feel free to reach out to me.
Hi! My name is Ariana and I’m a responsible and energetic caregiver with years of hands-on experience working with kids in a variety of settings. I’ve spent summers at a relaxed arts and crafts camp for children ages 7–13, leading creative projects, outdoor games, and group activities. I’ve also coached youth soccer for kids ages 3–12, focusing on teamwork, fun, and skill-building. During high school, I worked as a certified lifeguard for four years, which taught me strong safety awareness and emergency readiness — qualities I bring to every caregiving role. In addition to my professional experience, I’ve regularly cared for younger family members and love connecting with kids through creativity, sports, and play. I’m currently finishing my degree at Barnard College of Columbia University, where I’ve continued to nurture my love for learning and teaching. Whether it’s helping with homework, organizing fun activities, or just being a calm and supportive presence, I aim to make kids feel safe, seen, and engaged. Above all, I strive to be as helpful as possible to the families I work with. I’m dependable, patient, and always ready to support in whatever way I can.
Hi neighbors! My name is Gemma, and I’m an 18-year-old senior at The Brearley School. I have experience babysitting for local families with children ages 5+, and I’m certified in CPR for infants, children, adults. I am also certified in First Aid. I have worked as a camp counselor and have babysat children ages 4-11 before. I also foster kittens, and have lots of experience with cats. I have owned dogs before as well. I’m warm, reliable, and love keeping kids engaged, whether that’s helping with homework, playing games, or reading together. Please feel free to reach out — I’d love to connect with more families in the neighborhood!
Hi families! I’m a 30-year-old, reliable, energetic, and experienced sitter transitioning from a corporate career back to grad school for clinical psychology. I have been caring semi-regularly for children since I was 12 years old. I grew up with four siblings—two of whom are 12 years younger than me—and I played an active role in helping raise them. That hands-on experience continued through college and my corporate working life here in NYC with dozens of families (new to UrbanSitter, previously used HelloSitter). It has also recently come full circle as I’ve supported my siblings with their own babies, helping with everything from the sensitive postpartum newborn stage to chasing active toddlers. After several years in the corporate tech world, I’ve left to pursue my master’s degree. This schedule change allows me to return to what I genuinely love: hanging out with kids. I bring the “adult” reliability of a former professional (punctual, communicative, safety-conscious) mixed with the warmth and energy of a seasoned aunt/uncle. I am comfortable with all ages, confident with bedtime routines, and happy to help with homework or light meal prep. Looking forward to meeting your family! Note: I built the majority of my career in journalism, and I love tutoring if any kids need help with their homework or college essays!
“Mara is so wonderful. Very responsive, capable, warm, communicative… and my kids immediately liked her. ”
Hi! My name is Gicely Sarai , I’m a professional nanny with over 15 years of experience working with private families in New York City, and I was also a kindergarten teacher in my home country. I’m CPR certified and experienced with newborns, infants, toddlers, and school-age children, including caring for multiple children at once. I truly enjoy engaging with kids through reading, singing, dancing, age-appropriate arts and crafts, puzzles, outdoor play, and outings to parks, museums, and zoos. Reading is one of my favorite activities with children , Little Blue Truck is my favorite book ! I speak English and Spanish, I’m responsible, dependable, and caring, and I have excellent and impeccable references from families I’ve worked with. I’d be happy to connect and learn more about your family and childcare needs. Feel free to message me through UrbanSitter. I look forward to meeting you and your little ones!
“I’m very happy with Gicely. She’s been watching our baby on a regular basis and has been punctual, polite, reliable, and flexible. Our baby warmed up to her right away and she is so sweet and patient.”
