More importantly though, that knowledge helps me be more relatable to them as I understand what they’re currently experiencing at school! I have a background in performing arts, which you will find allows for pretty awesome story-times and games. We theatre kids have a ton of energy and I am no exception to this. I can keep up with all the energy your kids have and then some. I am a good listener and am flexible and willing to do just about anything a family needs of me. At the end of the day, the most important thing to me is to make sure your children are safe and happy, and that you as parents are satisfied with my care. I grew up in a large Haitian family so I've been babysitting for as long as I can remember. When my studies brought me to Hamilton College, I continued to babysit for professors and administrators alike. There I pursued an interdisciplinary major in Genetics & Social Justice with a focus on reproductive health. As part of my major, I got the opportunity to study maternal and child health in the U.S., Vietnam, South Africa, and Argentina. Living and learning in such different environments exposed me to children of all ages and backgrounds and taught me that in the absence of a shared spoken language, games are a universal language that can create a genuine connection with children all over the world.
