East Rockaway
$24 per hour for 1 child
Booked by 31 families in Point Lookout, NY

Hello! I am an artist with my Master's of Fine Arts in Acting from Yale, mother of two school-age children, and I have lived in NYC for four years. I'm happy around shy or high-energy children. I love finding ways to reach them that make them feel accepted and in a trusting environment. I love imaginative play, keeping schedules, and helping with homework. Siblings are great, too! Looking forward to meeting you and your kiddos! I absolutely love working with children! When I lived in Texas, I founded a children's theatre camp in Texas for ages 5-18. I developed curriculum, managed scheduling and instructed every class. I have worked as a nanny for over a decade before having children of my own and now take part-time work. Some of my favorite jobs included two brothers, ages 4 and 11 who enjoyed playing adventure make-believe and basketball, respectively, who I nannied for 3 times a week for about a year before graduating. I also loved my time as a nanny for three brothers, ages 6, 9, and 12 who had packed schedules to keep after school: practicing piano, doing homework and playing soccer outdoors, who I watched for over a year. I will also never forget the family who lived in my building here in new york, whose daughters - ages 4 and newborn I watched at least once a week, sometimes more, sometimes just coming over to play and visit; ballet, painting, storytelling, and going on adventures full of imagination and play were all part of the itinerary - all while keeping to the required schedule for feeding and bedtime, of course. :) Most importantly, I have 3 siblings, including two younger brothers, both of whom I adore. I am older than the youngest by 7 years, so by the time I was 13 I not only began babysitting professionally but also proved both my responsibility and joy to play on a constant basis as I watched over my brothers. I have an 11 year old niece who is the apple of my eye. I was 16 when she was born, and my sister worked full time, so my primary job in high school was to come over after school and take over for my mom and watch my niece for the day, starting when she was a newborn to around 2.5 yrs old at 2-3 times a week for long afternoons until my sister came home. I absolutely loved it!

Rachel seemed very sweet, caring, and professional. My daughter warmed to her right away! I'd definitely hire her again.

Dominion 1 review
New York
$30 per hour for 1 child

Hi, I’m Dominion, and I’m a biology graduate from the college of mount Saint Vincent, NY. I used to work as a microbiologist and now preparing for my masters program. I offer reliable child care, and household services. I have a passion for babysitting and have been caring for children—from newborns to preteens, including all my little cousins during summer vacations. My experience includes school pickups, engaging activities like crafts, tutoring, and even managing dance lessons. In addition to babysitting, I could provide household support, including cleaning, and running errands. I have experience caring for my grandparents, so I'm comfortable with senior care, whether it’s preparing meals, or helping with daily tasks. My hobbies include listening to music, YouTube, shopping, working in a laboratory and reading leisurely. Looking forward to meeting you!

When my mother-in-law was unexpectedly unavailable, I reached out to Dominion and she saved the day! She arrived on time and instantly connected with my 6-month-old, which is no easy feat considering that I work from home and my daughter is super attached to me. I was instantly comforted by my daughter's smile when Dominion reached for her and by Dominion's innate ability to soothe her when she did get a bit fussy later in the day. She understood my daughter's cues, and we had a chance to laugh about them together after I had finished a few meetings. She also treated my home with great respect and showed a genuine interest in getting to know my family. I know I will continuously reach out to her when needed. Thank you, Dominion!
