Hi! I’m Breana, and I’ve been working with children for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I was always helping care for my younger siblings and cousins, and I’ve been working professionally with children since I was 15, giving me 9 years of childcare experience. I’m currently a lead preschool teacher, where I work with children every day to support their learning, development, and social-emotional growth. I’m comfortable caring for children of all ages and have experience with everything from infants to school-age kids. I’m also comfortable transporting children and enjoy planning fun, active days. Whenever possible, I love getting kids outside to explore parks, play games, and enjoy nature. One of the things I’m most passionate about is supporting children’s emotional development. I believe every child deserves to feel seen, heard, and valued. I strive to help children understand their big feelings and guide them toward healthy, age-appropriate ways to express and work through those emotions. I have experience working with children with ADHD, Autism, and Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD). I understand that every child is unique, and I enjoy adapting my approach to meet each child’s individual needs while creating a supportive and encouraging environment. I know a little bit of ASL and am interested in continuing to learn more. I also love arts and crafts and anything Disney, so I enjoy planning creative activities and bringing a little extra fun to each day. I enjoy seeing and assisting children thrive in a safe and nurturing environment. My Grandchildren know that "Nana's" most important job is keeping them safe. I was a life guard as a young adult, a Girl Scout leader and volunteered for outdoor adventure companies that work with the physically challenged population. I even taught adaptive PE for a term. I co-owned an organic farm CSA for 10 joyous years. We also made herbal products and sold them at the Farmer's Market. I don't watch much TV as there are too many other choices as my interests are numerous from backpacking, kayaking, traveling especially in the developing world, volunteering, spending time with animals, my family and friends and of course my Grandchildren, reading, music, the performing arts, skiing, crocheting, yoga, crafts, gardening and trying to make this world a little more kind, more fun, lighter... Life is to be celebrated as it is a gift to share and enjoy with others and possibly to make their life a bit easier along the way.
