Hi! I go by Nyxie (they/them/fae). I bring over 15 years of experience caring for children from infancy through the teen years, including roles as a nanny, babysitter, ESL teacher, special needs tutor, and current preschool program assessor. I am CPR and First Aid certified, bilingual in English and Spanish, and conversational in French and Mandarin Chinese. My approach to caregiving is child-led, trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming, and play-based. I enjoy creating engaging, developmentally supportive experiences through outdoor play, art, reading, healthy cooking, and mindfulness activities. I strive to foster independence, emotional regulation, and a strong sense of safety and belonging in every child I work with. For work-from-home families, I value clear communication and collaboration. I do my best work when trusted to take the lead during scheduled hours, as consistency helps children feel secure and reduces confusion. My goal is always to create a warm, joyful, and supportive environment where your child can thrive.

I am a Portland native and I worked as a teacher for 4 years. I graduated with my BA from Lewis & Clark College and earned my MAT at the University of Portland. I am currently a volunteer on the board of a nonprofit and am starting up a small online business with an old friend. I enjoy soccer, hiking, singing with my gospel choir, teaching Girl Scouts how to sew, and I’m currently renovating a vintage Airstream. I started baby-sitting as a ten-year-old, and have since worked with children of all ages. Most of my experience is with elementary school age kids, but I love babies and toddlers as well. I am a mother of 3. my daughter is 18 and my son is 6 and my other daughter is 2. my parents did foster care when I was younger, so I was exposed to all sorts of people and kids. I babysat for years, worked at a daycare and helped with many kids programs in my area and community. I love to be silly and creative.

Hello, I’m Ivory! I am an independent college student, I just graduated 2025 at PSU with a bachelor of fine arts! I have taken 4 years of Spanish and would be happy to share basic Spanish vocabulary! I love drawing, painting, ceramics, and am working 7 years so far as a part time ice cream cake decorator. In my free time I enjoy singing, working out, and playing games with friends! I have experience babysitting my 3 nephews, and working with kids at church. I babysat for a girl 5 y/o girl until she was 7 y/o in the mornings getting ready for school with the occasional pickup from school. . I occasionally babysit a nonverbal 4y/o boy with autism since he was 1 year old. I’ve currently been babysitting a 3 year old girl on Saturdays for the last year! I have pet sitting experience too for dogs, cats, fish, and farm animals (I adore my cat Toulouse), I’ve been pet sitting my sisters golden doodle puppy occasionally. I love teaching kids new things and sharing what I’ve learned with them. I’m looking to save more money while doing something that I enjoy!
